Abstract: Disclosed are preforms which incorporate improvements in the region of the neck and upper segment of the body to allow the production of lightweight containers, such as bottles suitable for containing water or other beverages. In accordance with certain embodiments, the improvements include a thinner neck finish area than conventional bottles, where the thinner area is extended into the upper segment of the body portion below the support ring. Reducing the thickness in these areas of the bottle allows for less resin to be used in forming the preform and bottle.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a prestretched polyethylene film having a longitudinal stretch ratio of from about 1:2 to about 1:4 and having a longitudinal elongation capability of at least 170%, said elongation capability comprising an elastic component. The invention also relates to a method for producing said film and to a method of wrapping compressed bulk material such as a round bale using said film, the method comprising further stretching the prestretched film and applying the film around the compressed bulk material in direct contact therewith. The film according to the invention may be used as a net replacement film and allows increasing the efficiency and the economics in the baling process by allowing faster baling, use of a lesser amount of wrapping film and/or improved protection of the product.

Abstract: A low printing temperature thermoplastic filament composition for fused filament fabrication 3D printing is described. The filament includes polycaprolactone in an amount from 70 to 90 wt %, at least one thermoplastic polymer having a melting temperature between approximately 60° C. and approximately 90° C. in an amount from approximately 10 to 30 wt %, at least one antioxidant, and at least one plasticizing agent. This 3D printing filament can be printed out at temperatures below 100° C. and no heated print bed is needed, which saves energy and minimizes the complexity of 3D printer. Besides the low printing temperature, this 3D printing material is bio-friendly which makes it safe for household use.

Abstract: A product capable of controlling odors arising from organic matter, and a method of making the product. The product comprises an admixture of a moldable thermoplastic and a benign dormant bacteria in a sporulated form, which admixture is formed by mixing the benign dormant bacteria into the moldable thermoplastic when the moldable thermoplastic is melted, and molding the admixture into a molded product. The benign dormant bacteria are embedded throughout the molded product, including being buried within a body of the molded product and being presented on a surface of the molded product. The benign dormant bacteria presented on the surface of the molded product are activatable upon exposure of the surface of the molded product to the organic matter, and the benign activated bacteria digest the organic matter to control production of offensive odors. Abrasive wear of the surface of the molded product exposes fresh benign dormant bacteria buried in the body to the surface for additional odor control.
