Abstract:
Disclosed is a powder coating method and paint thereof. First, a metal object is applied a voltage. Second, paint is rubbed to carry a static charge, wherein the static charge is opposite to the voltage applied to the metal object. The statically charged paint is then sprayed from a nozzle to the metal object to form a coating covering the metal object surface. The paint composition includes 90 to 99.9 parts by weight of a resin matrix, and 10 to 0.1 parts by weight of a carbon nanocapsule evenly dispersed in the resin matrix.
Abstract:
A method and a system for applying hot melt adhesive powder onto a non-metallic surface are disclosed. The hot melt adhesive powder is sprayed out from a spray head while being charged with electrostatic charges, and then the charged hot melt adhesive powder will be attached to the whole surface of a non-metallic component by electrostatic force, or only attached to a desired area of the non-metallic component by pre-coating the desired area with conductive liquid. By spraying the hot melt adhesive in the form of powder, there is no need to heat the adhesive in advance. When the surface of the non-metallic component is 3-dimensional, the charged adhesive powder can be introduced onto the surface of the to-be-bonded component and attached to the desired surface without the omni-directional spraying operation. Excessive powder will be easily blown or brushed away and will be recycled.
Abstract:
Uniform portions of fine powders are deposited on a substrate by electrostatic attraction in which the charge of the electric field and polarity of the charged particles are varied repeatedly to form a buildup of powder on the carrier surface.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for powder coating shelving panels made of MDF or other particle board materials, peg board panels and other articles made of MDF, peg board or other wood-based products. The process comprises first mounting of the panel on a hanger assembly attachable to an overhead conveyor. The panel is passed through a preheat oven having a temperature of preferably from about 260° F. to about 280° F. for a period of from about 15 minutes to about 30 minutes. The preheated panel preferably having a surface temperature preferably of about 110° F. to 112° F. is then carried through a powder coating booth on a preferred hanger assembly where electrostatically charged particles are sprayed onto the surfaces of the panel.
Abstract:
A method of producing a functional layer on a substrate, such as metal would include the steps of applying an electrostatic powder as a primer coat to the substrate, after which the primer is cured by a laser. A conductive layer is then applied and cured to form a functional layer, such as conductive tracings over all or a portion of the substrate.
Abstract:
Method of coating pipe having a raised weld bead. Curable resin polymer is applied to the pipe and allowed to bond to form a cured or partially cured polymer layer on the pipe. Powder form adhesive composition is applied on the polymer layer while hot, with fusion into a film bonding to the polymer. Powder form polyolefin is applied to the adhesive while hot with fusion into a film bonding to the adhesive to form a powder-based coating. Following forming of the powder-based coating, the pipe is cooled from the inside. An outer polyolefin covering is bonded to the powder-based coating and the pipe cooled to ambient temperature. This procedure can avoid voids, cavities or pinholes forming in the coating adjacent the weld bead.
Abstract:
Control method and apparatus for a manual spray gun may include a second manually actuated trigger disposed on the spray gun handle, with the second trigger being operational to select or change one or more coating operation parameters.
Abstract:
Control method and apparatus for a manual spray gun includes display that is disposed on the spray gun and that provides information to an operator about one or more coating operation parameters. An auxiliary trigger may be used that enables an operator to make selections or changes of one or more coating operation parameters. The display and auxiliary trigger together permit an operator to make selections or changes without having to divert attention or field of view away from the spray gun or the coating area, especially during a coating operation. The display may include numeric information, for example, data relating to a coating function being displayed.
Abstract:
Disclosed are environmentally friendly, substantially all solids coating compositions which are curable using ultra violet and visible radiation. In addition, methods for coating surfaces, or at least a portion of the surfaces, and curing of the coated surface to obtain partially or fully cured coated surfaces are also disclosed. Furthermore, articles of manufacture incorporating fully cured coated surfaces are disclosed, in particular motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts or accessories.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for field-injection electrostatic spray deposition of medical devices like stents. The apparatus includes a medical device holder, which applies a first electrical potential to the medical device, and an electrically insulative electrostatic spray dispensing device having an electrically conductive electrode, which applies a second electrical potential, creating an electrical potential difference sufficient to attract charged coating material particles emitted from an orifice of the dispensing device toward the medical device. The electrode may be sharpened to create a localized, high-strength electric field to improve the charge injection into the coating material or coating solution.
