摘要： In accordance with the present invention a method for the direct manufacture of aerospace duct elements is provided comprising executing a single build run on a build chamber using direct fabrication technology to generate at least one duct section. The at least one duct section is generated by forming a plurality of partial cylinder duct segments orientated within the build chamber in a nested arrangement during the single build run, and assembling at least two of the partial cylinder duct segments to form the duct section. The duct section has a duct cross-sectional profile larger than a build chamber profile.

The wall and/or floor panels can include an I-beam post/cross-member defined in the extrusion profile. The panels can also define half I-beam post/cross-members so that adjacent abutted panels cooperate to define additional full I-beam post/cross-members.

The roller includes a rotatable mounting hub connected to the conveyor frame assembly, and a plurality of adjacently disposed roller segments fixed to the mounting hub to form belt-engaging, curved outer wall surfaces. The outer wall surfaces are separated by a number of gaps, at least one of the gaps receiving rib structure provided on the conveyor belt for maintaining proper movement of the conveyor belt on the conveyor frame assembly.

To protrusion chips 117b1 and 117b2 end portions of face plates 101 and 102 of another frame member 100 are overlapped. The corners between the rib 116A and the rear faces of the face plates 111 and 112 are in the form of a convex circular arc 131 which protrudes into a hollow portion 119 of the frame member 110. Both end portions of the circular arc 131b1 are connected to the rib 116A and the face plates 111 and 112 by two smooth recessed circular arcs 132b1 and 133b1. Accordingly, since a flow-out of metal does not occur from this portion, the cross-section can be small and a light weight structure an be obtained. A structural body formed of hollow frame members which are joined by friction stir welding provides a light weight structure.
