    摘要: A method of printing is disclosed which comprises the steps of (i) providing a lithographic printing plate precursor comprising a support and a heat- or light-sensitive coating; (ii) image-wise exposure of the coating to heat or light; (iii) prior to step (ii) or (iv), mounting the lithographic printing plate precursor in a printing unit of a printing press, said printing unit comprising a dampening system and an inking system; (iv) development by supplying a processing liquid to the coating by means of the dampening system, thereby obtaining a lithographic printing plate; (v) printing by supplying single-fluid ink or driographic ink to the lithographic printing plate by means of the inking system. This method allows on-press processing of printing plate materials that require wet processing.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing such a dry lithographic printing master plate that has eliminated uneven plate performance and more specifically that provides a stable adhesiveness between a heat-sensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer as well as a high aging stability of a coating solution. Provided is a method for preparing a master plate useful for making a dry lithographic printing plate comprising at least a heat-sensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer which are stacked in this order on a substrate, said method comprising the steps of: (1) dissolving a diorgano-polysiloxane and a curing catalyst in a solvent; (2) dissolving a cross-linking agent in a solvent; (3) mixing the solution obtained in the step (1) with the solution obtained in the step (2); and (4) applying the mixture obtained in the step (3) over the heat-sensitive layer to thereby form the silicone rubber layer.

    摘要: This patent describes a lithographic printing plate comprising on a substrate a semisolid radiation-sensitive layer capable of hardening upon exposure to a suitable radiation, and a method of imaging such a plate using laser radiation. The utilization of a semisolid radiation-sensitive layer allows faster photospeed and better curing efficiency as desired for digital laser exposure. Several plate designs can be utilized to overcome the tackiness issue associated with the semisolid layer, such as conformally coating the radiation-sensitive layer on a rough substrate and utilizing an overcoat. Plates having an ink and/or fountain solution soluble or dispersible semisolid radiation-sensitive layer can be directly developed with ink and/or fountain solution while mounted on press, with the imagewise laser exposure being carried out on press or off press.

    摘要: A method of lithographic printing is disclosed which comprises the steps of unwinding a web of a flexible lithographic base from a supply spool, the lithographic base having a hydrophilic surface, wrapping the lithographic base around a cylinder of a printing press, applying on the lithographic base an image-recording layer which is removable in a single-fluid ink or can be rendered removable in a single-fluid ink by exposure to heat or light, image-wise exposing the image-recording layer to heat or light, processing the image-recording layer by supplying single-fluid ink, thereby obtaining a printing master, printing by supplying single-fluid ink to the printing master which is mounted on a plate cylinder of the printing press; and removing the printing master from the plate cylinder, preferably by winding up on an uptake spool. Since the image-recording layer can be processed by single-fluid ink, the imaging material is suitable for on-press processing in printing presses wherein no fountain solution is supplied to the plate. The method allows a rapid, fully automatic plate change with reduced press down time.
