摘要: An atmospheric pressure plasma source includes a body including a distal end, a blade extending from the distal end and terminating at a blade edge, a plasma-generating unit, and a plasma outlet communicating with the plasma-generating unit and positioned at the distal end. The plasma outlet is oriented at a downward angle generally toward the blade edge, wherein the plasma outlet provides a plasma path directed generally toward the blade edge. The plasma may be applied to the coating at an interface between the coating and an underlying substrate. While applying the plasma, the blade is moved into contact with the coating at the interface, wherein the blade assists in separating the coating from the substrate while one or more components of the coating react with energetic species of the plasma.

摘要: A process for the removal of dry adhesives and/or inks from the surface and from the interior of the cells of the engraved cylinders used in printing and coupling processes, using a supercritical mixture formed by one or more organic solvents and a supercritical fluid, preferably consisting of supercritical carbon dioxide. The microscopic cells of the engraved cylinders used in printing industry or of the cylinders used for film coupling in packaging industry are thoroughly and easily cleaned by a process comprising the steps of forming the said supercritical mixture, delivering it in a high pressure autoclave previously filled with the engraved cylinders to be cleaned, cleaning for a given residence time, eliminating the organic solvent residue in the autoclave by washing it with supercritical fluid and precipitating the extracted inks and/or adhesives in one or more separators located downstream the autoclave.

摘要: Process and system for removing printing in metallic packages used in drinks, food and other applications in general, comprising the removal of ink before the cure thereof, by means of spray with ink remover liquid and non abrasive friction. Preferably, said liquid is an alkaline aqueous solution, which is sprayed onto the package surface simultaneously with the friction thereof with a soft and non abrasive element. In a preferred embodiment, said friction results in the rotation of the package around the longitudinal axis thereof, which is mounted on a rotative support, and the soft non abrasive element in contact with the surface thereof keeps motionless.

摘要: A method of removing a coating, such as paint, varnish, biological growth or grime, from a surface, the method comprising selecting a suitable particulate solid having a particular, size of from 150-250 mm and a fluid carrier to form a spray mixture and spraying the mixture as a jet spray so as to impact and at least partially remove the coating. The hardness of the particulate solid is less than 8.0 on the Moh scale. The pressure applied to the spray mixture to generate the spray is from 3.sub.x 10.sup.5 to 1.5.sub.x 10.sup.6 Nm.sup.-2. An apparatus comprising a blasting pot (1) and a compressor (2) to generate the spray mixture and propel it from a nozzle (5) is also disclosed. Heating may be applied to the carrier, either prior to or when mixing with the particulate solid.

摘要: The spatula of the present invention is designed to effectively clean and remove residual paint from the inside walls and bottom of a cylindrical paint container. The spatula includes a blade with a protrusion with a curved edge extending from the blade. In the preferred embodiment, the protrusion is located adjacent to but set back from the straight distal edge of the blade so that the distal edge of the blade can be effectively used to scrape residual paint from the bottom of a container. The side edges of the blade form a right angle with the distal edge so that the distal corners of the blade may be used to clean paint from the hard to reach circumferential corner at the bottom of a cylindrical container. Finally, the curved edge of the protrusion may be effectively used to scrape residual paint up the sides and out of the cylindrical container.
