    摘要: The invention relates to an assembly for treating wounds and to a hand held unit for treating wounds. The assembly and the hand held unit comprise a device for producing a plasma and/or an excited gas or gas mixture by means of a piezoelectric transformer, which is housed together with a circuit board in a housing of the device, and the assembly comprises an expansion element. A control circuit, to which the piezoelectric transformer is electrically connected, is realized on the circuit board. A second end of the expansion element surrounds a wound region to be treated. A first end of the expansion element is detachably connected to the housing of the device at the opening of the housing. The produced plasma and/or excited gas or gas mixture thus enters the expansion element from the opening of the housing.

    摘要: An atmospheric pressure plasma source includes a body including a distal end, a blade extending from the distal end and terminating at a blade edge, a plasma-generating unit, and a plasma outlet communicating with the plasma-generating unit and positioned at the distal end. The plasma outlet is oriented at a downward angle generally toward the blade edge, wherein the plasma outlet provides a plasma path directed generally toward the blade edge. The plasma may be applied to the coating at an interface between the coating and an underlying substrate. While applying the plasma, the blade is moved into contact with the coating at the interface, wherein the blade assists in separating the coating from the substrate while one or more components of the coating react with energetic species of the plasma.

    摘要: An assembly for the treatment of wounds comprising a device for generating a plasma, or an excited gas or gas mixture, respectively. A covering is used to cover a wound area. A first conduit connects the device and the covering and a second conduit connects the covering and a pump. The device is arranged within a housing comprising an opening. The device comprises a piezoelectric transformer having a high-voltage end for generating the plasma, and is arranged within the housing such that the high-voltage end is directed towards the opening. The plasma or the excited gas or gas mixture, respectively, is generated in a region of the opening of the housing. A wound cover comprising a means for guiding the plasma across the wound area is arranged between the covering and the wound area.

    摘要: A low-power, compact piezoelectric particle emitter for emitting particles such as X-rays and neutrons. A piezoelectric transformer crystal receives an input voltage at an input end and generates a higher output voltage at an output electrode disposed at an output end. The emitter is in a vacuum and the output voltage creates an electric field. A charged particle source is positioned relative a target such that charged particles from the charged particle source are accelerated by the electric field toward the target. Interaction between the accelerated charged particles and the target causes one of X-rays and neutrons to be emitted.
