    Abstract: A vehicle door opening and closing operation device includes a cover swing mechanism and a door opening and closing operation portion to be operated by a user. The cover swing mechanism has a cover member that moves between a closed position where an operation opening portion is closed and an open position where the operation opening portion is opened. The cover swing mechanism includes a swing link unit and a swing unit. The swing link unit is swingable and movably supports the cover member between the closed position and the opening position. The swing unit includes a cam member. The swing unit presses an engagement portion of the link unit by a protruding portion provided on the cam member and swings the link unit to move the cover member. At least a part of the engagement portion overlaps the cam member in a front view.

    Abstract: A powered actuator for moving a motor vehicle closure panel from a closed position to an open position and method of construction thereof. Powered actuator includes an electric motor configured to rotate a driven shaft and a gearbox coupled to the driven shaft. An extensible member extends through the gearbox to a proximal end on one side of the gearbox for attachment to one of a vehicle body or the closure member and to a distal end on an opposite side of the gearbox. Extensible member is configured to move between retracted and extended positions in response to rotation of the driven shaft. A contamination cover enshrouds the extensible member between the gearbox and the distal end of the extensible member. Contamination cover moves between an axially extended state and an axially retracted state while the extensible member moves between the respective retracted position and the extended position.

    Abstract: A spring winding device, a counterbalancing force adjustment device for a counterbalancing mechanism, and a method of adjusting an amount of force stored in a spring of a counterbalancing mechanism are provided. The spring winding device includes a support bracket, a worm gear, and a drive gear. The worm gear is rotatably coupled to the support bracket and includes a mount portion for coupling a first end cone thereto. The drive gear is rotatably disposed adjacent the support bracket and is drivingly engaged with the worm gear. A rotation of the drive gear causes the worm gear to rotate within the support bracket. The spring winding device does not require pretensioning using winding rods, maintains rigidity and alignment when a counterbalancing force is applied, and decreases a cost and a complexity of the counterbalancing mechanism.

    Abstract: A driving mechanism is arranged such that at least a part is contained within a space corresponding to the external shape of a driving motor, that is, within a space corresponding to a distance in the radial direction of the driving motor. The driving mechanism comprises a pinion, a transmission gear, a ring gear that forms a fixed axis, and a carrier. The pinion is connected to a rotary shaft of the driving motor. The transmission gear has a disk gear portion that meshes with the pinion, and a sun gear portion that is located on the same side as the pinion with respect to the disk gear portion. The carrier has a planet gear and rotates with a drum.
