Abstract:
Mounting for a body coil of a magnetic resonance device is provided. A reversible and universal mounting device for a body coil in the magnetic resonance device is provided. The mounting device includes at least one expanding ring for creating a way of retaining the body coil in a tunnel-shaped magnetic opening of the magnetic resonance device. The mounting device also includes at least one expander that is configured to enable the expanding ring to be mounted on the inside of the tunnel-shaped magnetic opening of the magnetic resonance device by spreading. The mounting device includes at least one mounting element for mechanically supporting the body coil on the expanding ring.

The cable transport carrier facility is designed for transport of system cables installed on a medical imaging facility and is able to be installed on the medical imaging facility. The cable transport carrier facility has at least one component which is made at least partly of an organic material.
Abstract:
Novel normoxic N-(Hydroxymethyl) acrylamide (NHMAGAT) polymer gel dosimeters for MRI scanning are introduced for radiotherapy planning system. The composition of the NHMAGAT polymer gel and method of making the NHMAGAT polymer gel dosimeter are disclosed. The dosimeters are irradiated with Varian Rapid Arc linear systems at different absorbed doses. The results show that the percent depth dose and 2D plan dose distribution of NHMAGAT polymer gel dosimeters are in a good agreement with the ionization chamber measurements and CT planned dose distribution, respectively.
Abstract:
Optical devices for use with a magnetic resonance imaging breast compression system include light wands and optical adapters that can releasably mate with grids. These devices, and their associated methods, may reduce or eliminate the need for biopsy by allowing for the differentiation of cancerous tumors, non-cancerous tumors, calcifications and cysts.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for monitoring recording of measurement data of a person being examined who is positioned on a couch in medical diagnostic equipment, comprising the following steps, recording the measurement data to create image data; detecting the pressure characteristic that is exerted on the couch by the person being examined; automatic analysis of the pressure characteristic by comparing the detected characteristic with a predetermined pressure characteristic; and informing an operator of the medical diagnostic equipment if the analyzed pressure characteristic does not match the predetermined pressure characteristic.
Abstract:
A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a magnetic resonance data acquisition unit and a cerebrospinal fluid image data generation unit. The magnetic resonance data acquisition unit consecutively acquires a plurality of magnetic resonance data for generating a plurality of cerebrospinal fluid image data, each corresponding to a different data acquisition time, after a labeling pulse is applied. The cerebrospinal fluid image data generation unit generates the plurality of cerebrospinal fluid image data based on the plurality of magnetic resonance data.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of MR imaging of an object (10) placed in an examination volume of a MR device (1). It is an object of the invention to enable improved electrical properties tomography. The invention proposes that the method comprises the steps of:—subjecting the object (10) to two or more imaging sequences for acquiring MR signals, wherein the imaging sequences each comprise at least one RF pulse and at least one switched magnetic field gradient; reconstructing two or more MR phase images from MR signals acquired by means of imaging sequences comprising switched magnetic field gradients of opposed polarity; deriving a spatial distribution of electrical properties of the object (10) from the MR phase images.
Abstract:
A ramrod for cleaning the bore of an MRI device, including: a head with a cross-section substantially identical in shape to the MRI bore's cross-section, the cross section having size slightly smaller than the MRI's bore's cross-section to fit snugly and movably within the bore, the head having at least one end, the head having a longitudinal axis; and a rigid extended longitudinal body rigidly connected to the at least one end, the body having a longitudinal axis. The passage of the ramrod through the bore removes particulates from the bore.
Abstract:
A medical device with metal parts to be introduced into animal or human bodies is rendered visible during RMN imaging by covering the exterior surface of the metal parts with a layer comprising Nickel monoxide. When placed within the electromagnetic field generated by a NMR apparatus, the layer reduces disturbances induced in this field in the vicinity of the metal part. This improvement is chiefly related to endoprostheses for subjects or patients who will be submitted to NMR imaging. In particular, the invention is aimed at luminal endoprostheses comprising a metal frame, as stents.
Abstract:
A controller is provided for maneuvering an interrogation plane relative to a reference surface. The interrogation plane intersects the reference surface and is associated with a pole about which the interrogation plane is rotatable. The pole has an adjustable angle of inclination relative to the reference surface. The controller has a base, a handle, and an arm extending from a connection with the base to a connection with the handle. The arm has hingable joints which hinge to allow the handle to be translated relative to the base in arbitrary directions across a user surface. The controller further has position sensors which measure the translation of the handle relative to the base on the user surface. The translation provides a corresponding translation of the interrogation plane relative to the reference surface. The handle is rotatable about a rotation axis and is tillable about a tilt axis to allow the handle to be angularly moved relative to the user surface. The controller further has angle sensors which respectively detect the rotation about the rotation axis and the tilt about the tilt axis. The rotation about the rotation axis and the tilting about the tilt axis provide angular movement of the interrogation plane relative to the reference surface corresponding to the angular movement of the handle relative to the user surface.
