Abstract:
An analog electronic timepiece comprises a system control circuit for outputting a control signal to each operable circuit in response to a signal from an outer input switch, a chronograph storing circuit for storing the value a chronograph measuring means by a lap control signal outputted from the system control circuit, a lap time calculating circuit to which a measuring data of the chronograph measuring circuit and a former measuring data stored in the chronograph storing circuit by a former lap control signal are inputted for calculating the time difference between the above two data and outputting a correcting drive signal if the hand requires a correcting drive as a result of the above calculation and a drive judging circuit to which a lap input signal, an interruption signal, and a correcting drive signal outputted from the system control circuit are inputted for outputting a data of the drive number if the hand requires driving.
Abstract:
In a stopwatch of this invention, when a lap switch is operated after time measurement is started, a lap time from the immediately preceding lap switch operation to the current lap switch operation is stored and compared with a measurement time after the current lap switch operation. Since an alarm tone is generated if the measurement time after the current lap switch operation coincides with the stored lap time, the immediately preceding lap time can be used as a target time of the time measurement. The stopwatch can be conveniently used when a running speed is increased or decreased in each lap in a track race or the like.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a setting method of the perpetual calendar of a chronograph watch having an analogic display and comprising a watch case, a time setting stem and two chronograph pushers. The display comprises a dial provided with an hour and a minute graduation as well as a centered chronograph hand and eccentric chronograph counters for the minutes and the hours each presenting a graduation, a corresponding hand and a date display. The watch comprises at least a driving motor for these hands and an electronic circuit provided with a processor controlled by a quartz time base. The setting of the perpetual calendar, number of the years within a cycle of four years, number of the months of the year, and indication of the date is controlled by the time setting stem and the two chronograph pushers. During the setting process, one displays the value of each of the parameters to be set successively by one of the hands and of the corresponding graduation.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for determining coagulation times in such clinical laboratory procedures as prothrombin times tests, activated partial thromboplastin time tests, fibrinogen determinations, factor assays for specific blood coagulation factors, and the like. A fibrous filament is drawn at a predetermined rate through a small body of liquid to be tested and the interval, from the time a suitable coagulating agent is mixed with the liquid to the time the body of liquid clings to the filament and moves with it, is precisely measured as a direct indication of actual coagulation time. The liquid body is supported upon a non-wettable inclined surface bordered by walls defining a well for receiving the liquid and a pathway for its movement. Particularly effective results are achieved by utilizing a pair of spaced filaments moving at precisely the same rate, the filaments being bridged by a web or mass of clotted liquid when coagulation occurs. A photodetector senses movement of the clot and a timer automatically measures the time between coagulant addition and clot formation. After clot detection occurs, an arm lifts the paired filaments from the well while at the same time directing the advancing filaments through slots to strip coagulum therefrom, then lifts the filaments out of the slots to permit fresh filament sections to move into place, and finally lowers the fresh sections onto a clean inclined surface for another coagulation test. Means are also disclosed for gently agitating the coagulating agent or agents prior to admixture with the test liquid, for insuring proper suspension of the reactants, and for reducing risks of infection and cross contamination during use of the apparatus.
Abstract:
THIS INVENTION PROVIDES AN IMPROVEMENT IN A TABLET DISINTEGRATING APPARATUS, BY PROVIDING A PLURALITY OF OPPOSED SPACED ELECTRODES AT THE BASE OF THE TABLET CONTAINING TUBES. IN THE OPERATION OF THE APPARATUS AN ELECTRIC FIELD IS SET UP BETWEEN THE ELECTRODES. THE PRESENCE OF A TABLET DISTURBS THIS ELECTRIC FIELD, WHICH DISTURBANCE ACTUATES A RECORDING DEVICE SUCH AS A TIMER. THE CONVENTIONAL RECIPROCATING VERTICAL MOTION OF THE APPARTUS (IN AN AQUEOUS BATH) CAUSES THE TABLET TO DISINTEGRATE. AT THE END POINT OF THE TABLET DISINTEGRATION, THE UNDISTURBED FLOW OF CURRENT BETWEEN THE ELECTRODES STOPS THE RECORDING DEVICE, NOTING THE INTERVAL OF TIME FOR TABLET DISINTEGRATING
Abstract:
A method of measuring an activity of a person/object on a flexible mat of a trampoline, comprising: determining a mat deformation signal based at least on measurements from a sensor arrangement comprising at least one sensor and defining a coordinate space for the mat; the or each sensor being configured to measure a value corresponding to a deformation of the mat as the person/object moves on the mat; wherein, the value measured by die or each sensor corresponds to a proximity of the person/object to the sensor; determining a bounce coordinate in the coordinate spate based at least on the mat deformation signal; and determining a bounce location of the person/object on the mat based at least on the bounce coordinate in the coordinate space. Also provided is a trampoline configured to indicate an activity of a person/object on the mat and an interactive apparatus that includes the trampoline.
