Abstract:
This invention relates to a process for ordering a selection in advance, characterized in that it includes a step in which a menu is displayed followed by a selection in this menu, to make specific requests and particularly: a step displaying the event for which the advance order of a selection is made, and then selection of the event; a step displaying the identity of destination equipment on which the selection is to be played, and then selection of this equipment; a step displaying the date and time at which the selection is to be made on the destination equipment; a step in which particular requests are recorded and downloaded onto a file only after payment has been verified.
Abstract:
A data-encoding system includes a source of unencoded data, and a first encoder interoperably coupled to the source, wherein the first encoder is adapted to receive the unencoded data, encode the unencoded data, and output encoded data at a first data rate. The data encoding system further includes a second encoder interoperably coupled to the source, wherein the second encoder is adapted to receive the unencoded data, encode the unencoded data, and output encoded data at a second data rate in which the second data rate exceeds the first data rate. This Abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an Abstract that allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain subject matter of the technical disclosure. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).

Abstract:
A solution comprising cost-effective methods and techniques for converting a traditional vending machine into a vending machine with a graphical user interface, multimedia advertising and info kiosk capabilities. A key aspect of this invention is the integration of a consumer DVD player in a vending machine, in which the graphical user interface is implemented as DVD Menu structures stored on a DVD disc that also contains the video clips. Another aspect of this invention, is the changed logic of a traditional vending machine to delay item dispense until a video clip has been played. The present invention provides interfacing methods between a DVD player, a Vending Machine Controller and an optional microcontroller. These methods can be used to implement a communication protocol between a DVD player and a microcontroller. The methods and techniques of the invention can be integrated in an MDB peripheral device of a vending machine.
Abstract:
A method for automatically opening a file associated with a predetermined condition is provided. The file is matched with the predetermined condition. Information related to the predetermined condition, such as temperature, light intensity, and sound intensity is detected. The detected information is sent to a processing module. The processing module monitors the detected information to determine whether the predetermined condition is satisfied and sends an instruction to an executing module to open the file when the predetermined condition is satisfied. A system for automatically opening the file associated with the predetermined condition is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A digital photo frame (DPF) capable of attracting attention is provided. The DPF includes a storage unit, a playback unit, a motion detector and a processing unit. The memory stores a plurality of audio files. The playback unit is configured to play the audio files. The motion detector is configured to detect whether there is someone around the DPF and produce a trigger signal when there is. The processing unit is connected to the motion detector and the playback unit, and is configured to control the playback unit to play an audio file thereby attracting people's attention.
Abstract:
An audio electronic device includes a player, an output device, a detector, and an automatic turn-off module. The player is for reproducing audio data. The output device is for transforming the audio data to audible sound. The detector is for detecting positional shift of the output device. The automatic turn-off module is for turning off the player based on the positional shift. An automatic turn-off method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
In a disk array system, multiplexed clusters and multiplexed power source units for supplying power sources to the respective clusters are arranged. Each cluster has a power failure judging unit for judging the power source condition of other cluster. In response to a case where one cluster stops its operation first owing to a power failure, at the power failure, for example, MP of the cluster blocks the portion of the other cluster, and judges the power source condition of the other cluster on the basis of a signal from the power failure judging unit, and records power failure information showing the power source condition to a memory. At power recovery, if the cluster recognizes that the portion in blocked condition of the other cluster is in blockage owing to the power failure, the cluster recovers the portion.
