Abstract: A battery includes: a power generation element including battery cells each of which includes an electrode layer, a counter-electrode layer, and a solid electrolyte layer located between the electrode layer and the counter-electrode layer, and which are electrically connected in parallel and stacked; an insulating member covering an electrode layer at a side surface of the power generation element; and a terminal electrode covering the side surface and the insulating member, and electrically connected to a counter-electrode layer, in which the power generation element includes: a first parallel unit that includes first battery cells and has both ends in a stacking direction at each of which a counter-electrode layer is located; and a second parallel unit that includes second battery cells, has both ends in the stacking direction at each of which an electrode layers is located, and is stacked on the first parallel unit.

Abstract: Discussed is a battery that may include an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode and a separator wound around a winding axis, wherein the first electrode includes a first active material region coated with a first active material layer and a first uncoated region not coated with the first active material layer, and at least a part of the first uncoated region being an electrode tab; a first current collector coupled to at least a part of the first uncoated region on the electrode assembly; a battery housing to accommodate the electrode assembly and the first current collector; and an insulator interposed between at least one of the first uncoated region and the first current collector and an inner surface of the battery housing facing the at least one of the first uncoated region and the first current collector to block an electrical connection between the battery housing and the at least one of the first uncoated region and the first current collector.

Abstract: A secondary battery includes a battery case housing a flat electrode body and a sealing plate. The electrode body is housed in the battery case such that a winding axis thereof is parallel with a longitudinal direction of the sealing plate. At an end portion of the electrode body in a winding axis direction thereof, an edge of a positive or negative electrode plate is connected to an external terminal fixed to the sealing plate through a current collector. An insulating pressing member is arranged between the sealing plate and the electrode body. The pressing member presses the electrode body in a direction perpendicular to the winding axis such that a distance between a portion of the electrode body contacting the pressing member and the sealing plate is longer than a distance between the end portion of the electrode body in the winding axis direction thereof and the sealing plate.
