    Abstract: An electrode plate assembly for a secondary battery module is disclosed, comprising a plurality of cells (100) arranged in a vertical stack (10). Each cell of the stack comprises a positive electrode plate (110), a negative electrode plate, and a separator. The separator is interposed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate and configured allow ions to move between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate. The electrode plate assembly further comprises a plurality of contacting means (140) for electrical monitoring of the cells, wherein each of the plurality of contacting means is electrically connected to at least one of the positive and negative electrode plates of a respective one of the cells and arranged to protrude laterally from a side edge (101, 102, 103) of the cell. The contacting means are distributed spatially along a width (W) of the stack.

    Abstract: A secondary battery has an electrode body, a sealing plate sealing an opening of a battery case, current collector tabs provided respectively on a positive and a negative electrode plate, current collector terminals disposed inside the sealing plate and connected respectively to the positive and the negative electrode plate with the respective current collector tabs interposed therebetween, and external terminals disposed outside the sealing plate and connected to the respective current collector terminals. The electrode body is accommodated in the battery case with the electrode current collector tabs being bent in a space inside the sealing plate, and each of the current collector tabs has a joined portion ultrasonically joined to the corresponding current collector terminal and a bend portion provided at a position away from the joined portion and on the electrode body side and serving as a starting portion at which the current collector tab is bent.

The shell has a wall. The electrode assembly is accommodated in the shell and includes a main body and a tab. The tab protrudes from one end of the main body in a thickness direction of the wall. The first insulating member is accommodated in the shell, the first insulating member includes an insulating body and a limit portion, the insulating body is disposed between the wall and the electrode assembly in the thickness direction of the wall, the limit portion is connected to the insulating body, and at least a portion of the limit portion is located between the main body and the shell in a first direction, where the first direction is perpendicular to the thickness direction of the wall.
