Abstract: A battery includes: an electrode layer; a counter electrode layer, which is a counter electrode for the electrode layer; a solid electrolyte layer between the electrode layer and the counter electrode layer; and an electrode current collector electrically coupled to the electrode layer. The solid electrolyte layer includes a first region containing a first solid electrolyte material and a second region containing a second solid electrolyte material. The first region is positioned within a region where the electrode layer and the counter electrode layer face each other. Moreover, a second density, which is of the second solid electrolyte material in the second region, is higher than a first density, which is of the first solid electrolyte material in the first region.

Abstract: A battery includes: a power generating element having a stacked structure of power generating layers and current collectors; and a counter electrode terminal. Each of the power generating layers is sandwiched between two adjacent ones of the current collectors. The current collectors are not in contact with each other. At least one of the current collectors includes a protruding portion protruding beyond an end surface of the power generating layer in a side surface portion of the power generating element and a stacked portion in which the power generating layers are stacked. When the protruding portion and the stacked portion are projected onto a projection plane perpendicular to the main surfaces of the power generating layers, the projected area of the protruding portion is larger than the projected area of the stacked portion. The counter electrode terminal is connected to a main surface of the protruding portion.

Abstract: A surge-absorbing element includes: an element body having a pair of end surfaces opposite to each other and a plurality of side surfaces; at least one pair of internal electrodes; and at least one pair of external electrodes disposed on the pair of end surfaces. The internal electrodes face each other via the functioning portion. The external electrodes include at least one pair of primary external electrodes disposed on the end surfaces and at least one pair of secondary external electrodes disposed on, and electrically connected to, the primary external electrodes. Each of the secondary external electrodes has an elastic modulus lower than an elastic modulus of each of the primary external electrodes.
