    Abstract: A rectangular secondary battery includes a rectangular casing that contains an electrode body, a sealing plate that seals an opening of the rectangular casing, a first positive electrode tab group that is composed of a plurality of positive electrode tabs, a positive electrode terminal that is attached to the sealing plate, a second positive electrode current collector that constitutes a positive electrode current collector member that is electrically connected to the first positive electrode tab group and the positive electrode terminal, and a second insulator. The second insulator includes a base portion that is disposed between the sealing plate and the second positive electrode current collector. The first positive electrode tab group is bent and connected to the second positive electrode current collector, the region being disposed along the sealing plate. A first wall portion is disposed between the first positive electrode tab group and the rectangular casing.

    Abstract: A method for producing a secondary battery including an electrode body having a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, a prismatic outer body having an opening and houses the electrode body, a sealing plate that seals the opening of the prismatic outer body, and a positive electrode external terminal that is electrically connected to the positive electrode plate and attached to the sealing plate. The method includes a fixation step of electrically connecting a first positive electrode current collector to a positive electrode external terminal and fixing the first positive electrode current collector to the sealing plate, a first connection step of weld-connecting a stack of a plurality of positive electrode tabs to the second positive electrode current collector, and a second connection step of weld-connecting the first positive electrode current collector to the second positive electrode current collector after the fixation step and the first connection step.

    Abstract: A positive electrode collector has a part connected to a positive electrode terminal and a part connected to a positive electrode tab. In the positive electrode collector, a fuse portion is provided between the part connected to the positive electrode terminal and the part connected to the positive electrode tab. In the positive electrode collector, a region closer to the part connected to the positive electrode terminal than the fuse portion is referred to as a first region, and a region closer to the part connected to the positive electrode tab than the fuse portion is referred to as a second region. An insulating plate as an insulating member disposed between the positive electrode collector and an electrode body is connected to the second region, and the second region is prevented from moving toward the first region after the fuse portion blows.

    Abstract: A secondary battery includes an electrode body including a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate; a battery case containing the electrode body; a terminal attached to the battery case; a conductive member having an opening adjacent to the electrode body; a deformation plate that seals the opening, and a current collector. The positive electrode plate and a positive electrode terminal are electrically connected to each other via a first positive electrode current collector, the deformation plate, and the conductive member. The first positive electrode current collector has a through-hole. The deformation plate is disposed to face the through-hole. A portion of the first positive electrode current collector distant from the through-hole is welded to the deformation plate to form a weld.
