    摘要: An electrical system for use with an alternator that supplies electrical power, an internal combustion engine including such an electrical system, and related methods of operation are disclosed. In one example embodiment, such an electrical system includes a first circuit portion configured to govern whether the power is communicated from the alternator system to a terminal associated with a battery and/or a load, and a second circuit portion configured to determine whether a voltage is elevated above a predetermined threshold and to provide a first signal upon determining that the voltage is so elevated. The electrical system also includes a third circuit portion coupled at least indirectly to the other two circuit portions. The third circuit portion is configured to provide a second signal upon receiving the first signal, the second signal being configured to cause the first circuit portion to cease allowing communication of the power to the terminal.

    摘要: An overvoltage protection circuit prevents a voltage higher than an allowable voltage value from being supplied to a predetermined to-be-protected circuit. A voltage is applied from outside to an input end 11. A cathode terminal of a zener diode 13 is connected to the input end 11. A first resistance element 14 is connected between an anode terminal of the zener diode 13 and a ground terminal. A voltage detection integrated circuit 15 detects a voltage between both ends of the zener diode 13, and outputs a detection signal that indicates whether or not the detected voltage is higher than the allowable voltage value. When the detection signal indicates that the detected voltage is no higher than the allowable voltage value, a MOSFET 16 supplies the to-be-protected circuit with the voltage applied to the input end 11. When the detection signal indicates that the detected voltage is higher than the allowable voltage value, the MOSFET 16 ceases the supply, to the to-be-protected circuit, of the voltage applied to the input end 11.

    摘要: A contactor control apparatus is provided for controlling contactors connected to a battery assembly. A contactor control apparatus includes a controller for turning on and off a first contactor connected to one end of a battery assembly having at least one secondary battery connected in series and a second contactor connected to another end of the battery assembly. The controller counts a first counter value when a control voltage for controlling each contactor is higher than a first reference voltage, and holds the first counter value when the control voltage is lower than or equal to the first reference voltage. The controller turns off at least one of the first contactor and the second contactor when the first counter value is equal to or higher than a first threshold value.

The arrangement (1) is distinguished by: at least one trigger circuit (6a, 6b) being adapted to respond to a trigger voltage, a voltage on the voltage feed deviating from the threshold range, by controlling the field effect transistor (4) to throttle the electric connection between the input (2) and output (3) terminals.

    摘要: A charging protection circuit with an overcurrent protector circuit takes input from a power supply, and provides output power to a power storage device, such as a battery. A fuse is connected between an input and an output of the charging protection circuit to protect the power storage device from a current spike, or overcurrent, that would damage the power storage device. When the overcurrent is above a threshold of the fuse, the fuse melts, effectively creating an open circuit and blocking the overcurrent from reaching the power storage device. To speed up the fuse meltdown, the overcurrent protector circuit is connected to the output of the fuse, and draws an extra current through the fuse when the overcurrent is detected.
