    摘要: Apparatus and methods for estimating a direct current offset in an upconverter are disclosed. Samples of a first signal are received. Values of a compensation signal are retrieved. For example, the compensation signal can be a component in a modified baseband signal, wherein the modified baseband signal is upconverted, downconverted, and filtered to generate the first signal. An estimate of a first DC offset induced by an upconverter is generated based at least partly on at least two selected samples of the first signal and corresponding values of the compensation signal.

    摘要: A transmitter includes an input, a modulator, and a calibration memory configured to store discrete calibration test points. A compensator is coupled between the input and the modulator and cooperates with the calibration memory to cause the modulator to generate a respective calibration carrier signal for each of the discrete calibration test points during a calibration phase. A detector is coupled to an output of the modulator and is configured to determine respective calibration values of the calibration carrier signals during the calibration phase. A compensator calculator is coupled to an output of the detector, and is configured to generate compensation values for the compensator for use during an operation phase and based on the calibration values of the calibration carrier signals.

    摘要: A quadrature modulation error is compensated without providing an additional feedback loop for detecting quadrature modulation error. An amplifier circuit includes: a quadrature modulator; an amplifier that amplifies a quadrature-modulated signal; a distortion compensation section that compensates distortion to be caused in the amplifier based on first compensation coefficients; a quadrature modulation error compensation section that compensates for a quadrature modulation error; an updating section that updates second compensation coefficients for compensating the quadrature modulation error; an error estimation section that estimates an error of the quadrature modulation error; and a prediction section that calculates a prediction value of an output of the amplifier after updating of the second compensation coefficients. The second compensation coefficients are updated based on the estimated error. The prediction value is calculated based on the estimated error and the amplifier output. The distortion compensation section calculates the first compensation coefficient, based on the prediction value.

The apparatus and the method suppress an image frequency component generated due to mismatch of IQ channels in order to transmit/receive a large amount of data without distortion in 4th generation wireless communication standard candidate technologies such as a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system and a mobile WiMax system. The apparatus includes a LOcal frequency (LO) buffer including an amplifier. The LO buffer controls the gain and the phase of the amplifier using a control bit for controlling resistor connection.

    摘要: Systems and methods which provide a multimode tuner architecture implementing direct frequency conversion are shown. Embodiments provide a highly integrated configuration wherein low noise amplifier, tuner, analog and digital channel filter, and analog demodulator functionality are provided in a single integrated circuit. A LNA of embodiments implements a multi-path configuration with seamless switching to provide desired gain control while meeting noise and linearity design parameters. Embodiments of the invention implement in-phase and quadrature (IQ) equalization and a multimode channelization filter architecture to facilitate the use of direct frequency conversion. Embodiments implement spur avoidance techniques for improving tuner system operation and output using a clock signal generation architecture in which a system clock, sampling clock frequencies, local oscillator (LO) reference clock frequencies, and/or the like are dynamically movable.
