Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of reconstructing an image from data captured by a sensor, and is particularly applicable to the case of sequential capture in relative movement between a scanning device and the original image. The seanning device comprises navigation means for detecting the position of the sensor relative to the original image. A pixel grid for the reconstructed image is determined, and correspondence between the pixel grid and the sensor data is identified using sensor position detection data. The intensity of pixels is determined from sensor data selected as relevant to the pixel under consideration.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for efficiently obtaining navigational position of a sensor array based on a correlation between images captured by the sensor array at successive points in time. This is achieved by first acquiring a reference frame through said sensor array, successively acquiring a sample frame through said sensor array. Correlation data representing a relationship between the sample frame and the reference frame is then generated and a displacement of a reference feature contained in both the reference frame and the sample frame is determined based on the correlation data. The correlation surface of the correlation data is modeled as a general two-dimensional Taylor series expansion. The method and apparatus of the present invention can be advantageously employed in a scanning device to provide efficient scheme for obtaining navigational information based on a comparison of image frames captured by a sensor array of the scanning device at successive points in time.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an image ssensor unit comprising: illumination unit for illuminating light on an original; an image sensor for reading out image information on the original by reflection light of said illuminated light; holding for holding the illumination unit; and a mounting unit for causing the holding unit to hold the illumination unit so that the relative displacement between the illumination unit and said holding unit in a direction along a surface of the holding unit on which the illumination unit is held by the holding unit.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus comprising a photosensor for receiving light from a light source through an original document, a wiring section for driving the photosensor, a circuit for driving the photosensor and for processing an output signal from the photosensor. The apparatus includes a first substrate having the photosensor and the wiring section thereon, and a second substrate having the circuit thereon and being separated from the first substrate. The second substrate is fixed above the first substrate.
