    摘要： An apparatus capable of modification of an image prior to scanning by a scanning device having a scanning element, a viewing surface, a glass platen, and a controller having memory capability, includes opaque adjustable bounding strips. The bounding strips are viewable through the viewing surface of the scanning device and are located between the inside surface of the glass platen and the scanning element. The bounding strips are movable to identify a selected portion of an image to be scanned. The apparatus also includes software for performing a scan of the selected portion of the image and identifying its location, based on the location of the adjustable bounding strips.

    摘要： When an image, which is an object of reading and which is recorded on a photographic film, is to be registered at a reading position of a film scanner by an operator, following processes are repeated: results of a CCD sensor picking-up the reading position and periphery thereof are fetched; a moving speed V of the photographic film is computed; if the moving speed V is greater than or equal to a reference value, results of pick-up are displayed on a CRT as a high-speed, monochromatic dynamic image; and if the moving speed is less than the reference value, the results of pick-up are displayed on the CRT as a highly-detailed, color dynamic image. In this way, a dynamic image display mode is automatically switched in accordance with changes in the moving speed v during a registration operation, and registration of the image can be carried out quickly and accurately.

When a film original is set on a scanner and an image is read therefrom to display a preview image, reading of the image is carried out by the same reading method irrespective of whether the film original is negative or positive. Image processing for displaying the preview image is changed according to the type of the film selected by the user.

The method further includes projecting a pattern on the object, and detecting the projected pattern, which is then processed to determine the orientation of the object relative to the optical axis of the digital camera, the distance of the object from the digital camera, and the planarity of the object.

    摘要： An apparatus for viewing originals in a flatbed scanner includes a fixed copy holder and a movable scanning unit with a light source for illuminating the original to be scanned, an optoelectronic transducer, and a scanning lens for projecting a scanned line of the original onto the optoelectronic transducer. Fitted below the copy holder is a light source, and fastened on the scanning unit is a dispersion foil drawn under the copy holder by the scanning unit when the scanning unit is brought into a parking position and drawn away by the scanning unit when the scanning unit is moved over the copy holder during scanning. The dispersion foil is stretched tight by a suitable stretching apparatus when the scanning unit is in the parking position.
