摘要: A water-degradable welding purge dam apparatus for purging a weld zone of a pipe assembly having first and second pipes having respective first and second pipe ends to be welded together at a root gap. The purge dam apparatus includes a blocking plate assembly having an outer blocking plate, an inner blocking plate, and zero or more interior blocking plates. The blocking plate assembly may be formed from one or more water degradable materials to facilitate removal of the purge dam apparatus from the pipe assembly using an aqueous fluid following welding. At least one of the blocking plates may include a plurality of fluid flow apertures to aid distribution of the aqueous fluid through the blocking plate assembly. If desired, first and second ones of the blocking plate assembly may be ganged together by an interconnection assembly to form a ganged set of blocking plate assemblies.

摘要: Through the present invention, the load of a torch (16) applied to a welding workpiece (W) in a touch start method is reduced, and stability is significantly enhanced. A welding head (10) has a rigid straight-advancing movable part (12), an elevator drive tower (14) for moving the straight-advancing movable part (12) straight forward in the vertical direction, and a torch (16) mounted on the straight-advancing movable part (12) so as to be able to move in the vertical direction. One end part of a balance arm (28) rotatably attached to a multi-purpose support part (22) of the straight-advancing movable part (12) is connected to a torch body (30), and a balance weight (98) is attached to the other end part of the balance arm (28).

摘要: A non-consumable electrode arc-welding method is provided for causing a welding machine to output or stop a welding current in accordance with at least an ON state and an OFF state of a start signal. In the method, a start signal is switched between an ON state and an OFF state, thereby controlling the on/off operation of the welding machine. Further, an operation mode instruction signal is switched between a normal mode and an interval mode, thereby controlling the operation mode of the welding machine. When the operation mode instruction signal indicates the interval mode and also the start signal is in the ON state, the welding current is outputted in a welding current output period. Then, the output of the welding current is suspended in a welding current interval period successively following the welding current output period.

摘要: A weld overlay system includes a workpiece jig holding a workpiece in manner that the workpiece center axis direction is parallel to X-axis direction, and rotates the workpiece in circumferential direction, a carriage, welding base supported on the carriage in manner that the welding base is displaceable with respect to the carriage in Y-axis direction and Z-axis direction, at least one pair of rollers and welding torch are supported on the welding base, and like. Pair of rollers include rotary shafts extend in parallel with the X-axis and are spaced apart from each other in Y-axis direction. The rollers are pressed against portion of the workpiece above the workpiece center axis C. The welding torch is supported on the welding base in manner that distances in Y-axis direction from the rotary shafts of the pair of rollers to the tip end of the welding torch are equal to each other.

摘要: Improved free-swinging hammermill hammer configurations are disclosed and described for comminution of materials such as grain and refuse. The hammer configurations of the present disclosure are adaptable to most hammer mill or grinders having free-swinging systems. The configurations as disclosed and claimed are non-forged and incorporate a saddle or hammer mouth. The merging of a hammer and saddle improves strength to reduce or maintain the weight of the hammer while increasing the amount of force delivered to the material to be comminuted. The improved configurations incorporate comminution edges having increased hardness for longer operational run times. The improved configurations improve installing, removing, and cleaning hammer components within the hammermill. The improved configurations may incorporate hammermill rod hole of varying shapes and sizes and saddles of varying shapes and sizes or the use of non-planar hammer bodies that have a recessed or protruding surface.

摘要: A method of automatically controlling welding using a welding apparatus having a heat-source and a wire feed. The method includes: setting at least one welding parameter; setting a stable wire interaction position where the wire fed by the wire feed interacts with the heat generated by the heat-source so as to produce an acceptable weld; and monitoring the wire interaction position during welding. If the wire interaction position deviates from the stable wire interaction position by more than an allowable tolerance at least one welding parameter is automatically altered to return the wire interaction position to within the allowable tolerance of the stable wire interaction position. The invention also relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a welding system capable of detecting a size of a welding material and automatically implementing appropriate arc starting parameters. The welding system includes a welder, a welding torch, and a sensor, in which the sensor is configured to detect the size of the welding material, directly or indirectly. The welder is automatically configured to produce an arc having the arc starting parameters determined from the size of the welding material detected by the sensor. The present disclosure decreases operational error by automatically changing arc starting parameters and/or welding parameters based upon a change in welding material size, rather than requiring an operator to manually change the arc starting parameters and/or welding parameters.
