Abstract:
An ammunition packing apparatus comprises an ammunition feeder receiving ammunition cartons and horizontally arranging the ammunition cartons in a left or right direction, an ammunition vertical conveyor vertically conveying the ammunition cartons to an ammunition horizontal conveyor, the ammunition horizontal conveyor advancing the ammunition cartons to an ammunition inserter, an ammunition pouch mounter placing and fastening empty ammunition pouches in a flat and stretched position, an ammunition pouch opener opening mouths of the ammunition pouches, and the ammunition inserter advancing and inserting the ammunition cartons into the ammunition pouches, wherein the ammunition inserter includes spade-shaped inserting blades surrounding left and right surfaces and bottom surfaces of the ammunition cartons to allow the ammunition cartons to be inserted without being stuck to rims of the ammunition pouches and ammunition return preventers preventing the ammunition cartons from moving back when the ammunition inserting blades return after advancing and inserting the ammunition cartons.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a packaging assembly comprising a device for transporting a packaging means (2), in particular a carton, said device comprising a continuous conveying section (3) and a plurality of conveying elements (4, 5). The continuous conveying section (3) is oriented vertically, forming an upper run region (30) and a lower nm region (31), and the packaging means (2) is transported on the lower run region (31).
Abstract:
An erecting aid for packaging materials is described and may include a table portion and a panel. A panel may be coupled to one side of the table portion. The table portion and the panel can be configured such that the table portion and panel form an acute angle and the panel acts as a type of back support wall with respect to the table portion. A clamp may cooperate with the table portion to produce a clamping force. The clamping force may occur by biasing at least a portion of the clamp towards a relaxed, closed. The combination of the table, panel and biased clamp provide the forces necessary to stabilize a partially folded corrugated box during the erecting process such that the partially folded corrugated box is stabilized and maintained in a partially assembled state while the operator can use both hands to complete the erecting process.
Abstract:
In one example of a vertical load case packer, guide rods provide horizontal adjustment of a tipping conveyor assembly to position the tipping conveyor assembly at a desired distance from the at least one bucket assembly. In operation, an indexing assembly advances case(s) into the tipping conveyor assembly. Side belts in the tipping conveyor assembly move and grip the case(s). A pivot rotates the tipping conveyor from a position wherein an open end of a case is oriented upwardly to a position wherein the open end is oriented horizontally to receive the product. Each bucket assembly receives product and delivers it to a case. A sliding bottom plate in the bucket assembly supports horizontally loaded product and advances the product into a case. A pusher plate prevents product from withdrawing from the case as the sliding bottom plate is withdrawn and further inserts the product into the case if needed.
Abstract:
An illustrative mailing machine is provided including a moistening fluid level indicator. The mailing machine includes a mail piece transport including a mail piece flap opening and moistening assembly, a moistening fluid container operatively connected to the moistening assembly for providing moistening fluid to the moistening assembly, and a fluid level indicator arm operatively connected to the moistening fluid container, wherein the fluid level indicator arm has an indicator surface adjacent to an indicator window for indicating the presence of the moistening fluid level container and for indicating an amount of moistening fluid in the container.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for inserting postal items into an envelope, the envelope is brought in an inserting position where the flap of the envelope is held open. A postal item is transported along a postal item transport path towards the inserting position and inserted into the envelope in the inserting position. The envelope with the postal item inserted therein is transported away from the inserting position and closed. A gummed portion of the flap is moistened, wherein the moistening is at least started before the transportation of the envelope away from the inserting position. An apparatus for carrying out such a method is also described.
Abstract:
A folding method for forming a sealed tubular wrapping about a packet, whereby the packet is fed onto a step-operated folding conveyor together with a sheet of wrapping material having a first and a second end portion; the sheet is folded into a tube about the packet so that the first end portion is superimposed on the second end portion along one of the surfaces of the packet; and the first end portion is then detached from the second end portion to deposit adhesive between the first and second end portions, and is then brought back into contact with the second end portion.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for erecting a folding box and folding the closure flaps or ends. The apparatus has a transfer device, by which the folding boxes are withdrawn from a magazine and conveyed along a cycloidal orbit path and conveyed into a conveying device of a cartoning machine. The folder apparatus has a platelike folder element as well as two folder elements, that protrude from the apparatus into the range of motion of the closure flaps. The closure flaps are bent at right angles in the order of their disposition on the box in the direction of movement of the folding box to the folder elements and the conveying device.
Abstract:
A method of and apparatus for forming, filling and sealing bags and depositing the filled bags in cartons, wherein the bags are formed, filled and sealed by a vertical form-fill-seal machine and each bag is compressed to shape it to fit in a carton.
Abstract:
Apparatus is provided for opening the flap of a document having a bent-over flap. The apparatus includes a pair of side frames, a driven, transfer roller rotatably mounted in said frames, a first, rotatably mounted pressure roller disposed against said transfer roller and providing between itself and said transfer roller a first nip for receiving said document, and a second, rotatably mounted pressure roller disposed against said transfer roller, said second roller being spaced from said first roller about the periphery of said transfer roller and providing between itself and said transfer roller a second nip for receiving said document. The apparatus further includes an upper, arcuate guide pivotably mounted to said frames for receiving the document from said first nip and guiding said document toward said second nip, said upper guide pivotable between a first position adjacent said transfer roller and a second position remote from said transfer roller, and a lower, arcuate guide pivotably mounted to said frames and hingedly connected to said upper guide. The lower guide has a flap-engaging lip oriented to engage and bend back the flap of said document as said document traverses said lower guide. The lower guide is pivotable between a first, non-flap-engaging position and a second, flap-opening position, said lower guide being pivotable to said flap-opening position by the document as it traverses said lower guide. The pivoting of said lower guide causes said upper guide to pivot to said second position remote from said transfer roller, thereby allowing said document with said flap to pass through the gap between said transfer roller and said upper guide.
