Abstract: A system moves items, like containers and/or pallets, through a label printing station. The station has a label printer that prints adhesive labels; and a robot arm terminating at a movable end with a suction pad or vacuum device and sensors. The station has sensors configured to measure a height of the item; and a processor coupled to receive the height of the item, to control the robot arm and label printer, and to receive label information from a server. The processor has a memory containing code that computes desired label positions based on height of the container/pallet. A method of labeling an item includes printing an adhesive label with the label information obtained from a server; receiving the adhesive label on a suction pad or vacuum device attached to a movable end of a robot arm, and determining a first labeling position from measured height of the container/pallet.

Abstract: A safety lifting device for positioning a labelling unit in a vertical direction (Z) in relation to a flow of objects where the labelling unit is arranged for printing labels and/or applying labels to the objects. The lifting device includes a linear actuator, a balancing unit, a drive unit connected to the linear actuator, and a movable section. The labelling unit is connected to the movable section. The linear actuator is connected to the movable section and arranged to control the position of the labelling unit. The balancing unit is arranged to counterbalance the gravitational force exerted on the linear actuator. The movable section of the lifting device includes an upper stand unit, and the lifting device further includes a lower stand unit. The upper stand unit is movably arranged in relation to the lower stand unit in the vertical direction.

A mobile packaging cart that is moved to a location adjacent to the storage location of the item to be packaged. The item to be packaged is retrieved from the storage location and identified, packaged, and the package is labeled at the location by the subsystems of the mobile packaging cart. The completed packages are stored on the mobile packaging cart until being unloaded for shipping from, or further processing within, the facility.

Abstract: A kit for labelling an object with a target label comprises an instrument having an end(s) for manipulating labels. Transfer label(s) adhered to the end of the instrument, the transfer label having a facestock having adhesive on at least one of its surfaces, an adhesion force A between a first surface of the facestock of the transfer label and the instrument being greater than an adhesion force B between a second surface of the transfer label and a target label. The instrument and transfer label are used to manually transfer the target label from a target label liner to an object by releasable adherence of the target label to the second surface of the transfer label. A method for labelling an object is also provided.

Abstract: A labelling apparatus for labelling a tray while the tray is conveyed by a conveyor means. A label feeder device is configured to place a label onto a top surface of the tray. A first tucker device is arranged sidewise to the conveyor means and includes an applicator block. A first moving mechanism is configured to move the applicator block in a back and forth direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the tray. The applicator block is movable from an initial position to a labelling position where the applicator block presses the portion of the label exceeding a side surface of the tray such that the applicator block follows the shape of the side surface of the tray via a rotational movement of the applicator block around the rotation axis.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a label-placement module having a first feeder assembly, including a horizontal delivery platter for receiving a label, and a first drive wheel, positioned adjacent to a distal end of the horizontal delivery platter and rotatable to move the label on the horizontal delivery platter in a first direction. The label-placement module may include a second feeder assembly coupled to an actuator that moves the second feeder assembly vertically to a delivery position associated with the container. The second feeder assembly having a vertical delivery platter for receiving the label from the horizontal delivery platter and a second drive wheel rotatable to move the label forward in the first direction towards the container such that at least a portion of the label may be clamped between the container and a lid of the container thereby attaching the label to the container.

Abstract: A robotic labeling system includes a package locating system and a package identification system identifying a package orientation. The robotic labeling system includes a label application system having first and second label printers and first and second label applicators. The label printers are both capable of printing a shipping label and a customer specific label. The first label applicator applies a first label (either the shipping label or the customer specific label) to a first side of the package while the second label applicator applies a second label (other of the shipping label or the customer specific label) to a second side of the package different than the first side. The printing and application of the labels is based on the orientation of the package.
