The document feeder apparatus is equipped with a sheet supply unit including a sheet supply member for supplying an original to a reading position; a transport unit including a transport member for receiving the original from the sheet supply member and transporting the original to the reading position; a discharge unit including a discharge member for discharging the original read at the reading position; and a flat plate shape support frame for supporting the respective units. The sheet supply unit and discharge unit are mounted on one of front and rear sides of the support frame, and the transport unit is mounted on the other of the front and rear sides of the support frame, so that each unit is unitized. Further, a sheet supply opening for guiding the original from the sheet supply unit to the transport unit is established on one side of the support frame, and an opening for guiding the original from the transport unit to the discharge unit is established on the other side of the support frame.

An original sheet reading apparatus includes an original sheet reading station, a main roller, an original sheet feed guidewhich is located in an original sheet conveyance path in order to guide an original sheet to the reading station, a sub-roller which is located on the downstream side of the reading station in the original sheet conveyance direction and an original sheet discharge guide for guiding the original sheet discharged from the sub-roller toward the discharge side. The discharge guide is located on the downstream side of the reading station in the conveyance direction, in which the front edge of the original sheet contact portion is adapted so as to be positioned at a position being offset with respect to a straight line that links the reading position in the reading station and the original sheet contact position of the sub-roller.

A sheet conveying device includes conveying means respectively located at an upstream side and a downstream side on a sheet conveyance path. First drive means rotates the upstream conveying means at a constant speed while second drive means rotates the downstream conveying means at a variable speed. When the second drive means accelerates the rotation of the downstream conveying means, speed adjusting means causes the conveying speed of the upstream conveying means to reflect the acceleration. The sheet conveying device insures smooth, reliable conveyance even when a sheet extends over both of the upstream and downstream conveying means.

Elevated conveyor for paper sheets, comprising a framework formed from two vertically arranged supports, it being the case that the vertical supports have horizontally spaced-apart bearing means which have rollers and guide arrangements for transporting belts, and the vertical supports of the transporting arrangement comprise profiles which have guide grooves in the form of dovetail grooves along the peripheral sides, it being the case that said grooves extend over the entire length of the support, and projecting from the circumference of the horizontally arranged bearing means are connecting plates which enclose two opposite sides of a support, and dovetail-form connecting tongues project from the plate surfaces which are directed toward the respective support, and said connecting tongues can be introduced into the grooves of the supports and are connected to the threaded part of a tightening screw which is fastened on the bearing plate.

A document transport apparatus includes a sheet feeding device for feeding a document from a sheet feeding tray; a transport device for receiving the document from the sheet feeding device and transporting the document to a predetermined position on a platen of an image reading apparatus; a sheet discharging device for discharging the document to a sheet discharging tray; a switch back path for turning the document upside down and reversing a front end and a rear end thereof, and for subsequently guiding the document to the sheet discharging device; and sheet discharging path for turning the document upside down, and subsequently guiding the document to the sheet discharging device. A control device controls such that the document is transported to the switch back path and returned from the switch back path to the platen via the sheet discharging path.

A bill deposit/withdrawal machine for performing deposit or withdrawal of bills includes a deposit/withdrawal port for performing deposit or withdrawal of bills, a bill discriminating unit for discriminating bills, a plurality of bill accepting boxes for accepting bills, a bill transport path for transporting bills, an upper bill mechanism disposed in an upper portion of the machine for forming a unit including the deposit/withdrawal port and the bill discriminating unit, and a lower bill mechanism disposed in a lower portion of the machine for forming a unit including the plurality of bill accepting boxes. The upper bill mechanism includes a reject box for accepting non-returning bills which cannot be accepted into the plurality of boxes or bills forgotten to be taken out.

A sheet feeder includes a plurality of roller pairs, which are drive roller segments and driven roller segments that press against the drive roller segments, disposed in pairs at a downstream side of a reading point. At least an outer layer of each of the drive roller segments is constructed of a material, such as a rubber, having a high coefficient of friction relative to a document sheet and at least an outer layer of each of the driven roller segments is made from a material having a low coefficient of friction relative to the document sheet. The drive roller segments are disposed on an axis perpendicular to a sheet feed direction, whereas the driven roller segments are disposed on axes inclined to the sheet feed direction symmetrically about a centerline of a width of the document sheet. Further, the axes of the driven roller segments are inclined such that the end of each of the segment's axis furthest from the centerline is on one of an upstream or downstream side of a sheet feed direction and an end closest to the centerline is on one of a downstream or upstream side of the sheet feed direction opposite that of the other end.

A sheet processing apparatus is provided with a processing tray on which sheets are to be stacked and subjected to a processing, a stack tray provided in the downstream of the processing tray with respect to the sheet conveying direction on which sheets are to be stacked, an oscillation roller pair for conveying the sheets stacked on the processing tray to the stack tray, and a trailing edge assist for conveying the sheet stacked on the processing tray toward the stack tray. The sheets stacked on the processing tray are discharged to the stack tray by the oscillation roller pair and the trailing edge assist.
