    摘要： This invention provides a technique of preventing a collision between an original document and a printing material on a conveyance path which is partially shared for conveyance of them in an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus of one aspect of this invention, which includes a printing unit configured to convey a printing material via at least part of a conveyance path used for original document reading processing, and execute printing processing of an image on the printing material, executes if the original document reading processing is not being executed when the printing processing of the image on the printing material is instructed, the printing processing without waiting for completion of the reading processing, and executes, if the original document reading processing is being executed, the printing processing upon completion of the reading processing.

    摘要： A transmission device for an automatic document feeder includes a driving gear set driven by a driving motor, a first swing arm equipped with a first driving roller set, a second swing arm equipped with a second driving roller set, and a one-way gear set driven by the driving gear set to keep transmitting rollers rotating in the same direction. The first swing arm is driven by the driving gear set and swingable between a first position and a second position to mesh the first driving roller set with a pickup device or an output device. The second swing arm is driven by the driving gear set and swingable between a third position and a fourth position to mesh the second driving roller set with the pickup device or the output device. When the first swing arm swings toward the first position, the second arm swings toward the fourth position, and when the first swing arm swings toward the second position, the second swing arm swings to the third position.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a first conveying path which connects between a sheet feed portion and a sheet discharging portion, and on which a image forming portion is arranged. The image forming apparatus further includes a second conveying path configured to guide the sheet on which the image has been formed on one surface thereof by the image forming portion to the first conveying path again, a document conveying path, and a reading portion. The document conveying path includes a document feeding path, a document discharging path, and a common conveying path which serves as at least a part of the second conveying path, and guides the document from a document feed portion to a document discharging portion through the document feeding path, the common conveying path and the document discharging path without causing the document to pass through the image forming position. The reading portion reads a first face and a second face of the document which is fed from the document feed portion.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a reading unit, a document conveyance unit, a sheet storage unit, a printing unit, a first and second determination unit, and a control unit. The reading unit reads a document. The printing unit performs printing on a sheet fed from the sheet storage unit. The first determination unit determines a first size of the document based on a size of a sheet stored in the sheet storage unit. The control unit causes the document conveyance unit to convey the document and causes the reading unit to read the document based on the determined first size. The second determination unit determines a second size of the conveyed document. In response to the determined first size not matching the determined second size, the control unit causes the document to be conveyed again and causes the document to be read again based on the determined second size.
