Abstract:
To provide inexpensively a connector constructed of a steel pipe and bearing a tie function of a ladder-type sleeper for railway tracks, in a connector constructed of a steel pipe 1 used in the ladder-type sleeper for railway tracks integrated with longitudinal beams made of concrete and the connectors constructed of steel pipes 1 by feeding concrete, both end portions of the connector constructed of the steel pipe 1 are flattened in the horizontal direction and a corrosion resistant coating 4 is coated at portions of the connector constructed of the steel pipe 1 exposed to the atmosphere.
Abstract:
A steel tie for incorporation in rail track has a horizontal rectangular plate for connection transversely of the rail to restrain vertical rail movement. The longer sides of the horizontal plate terminate in downwardly and outwardly inclined margin portions for capturing ballast. A web member extends vertically on the underside of the plate member and parallel to and centrally of the longer sides of the plate and serves to restrain longitudinal rail movement. Curved ballast engaging plate members are connected on the underside of the tie to provide lateral stability. The plate members are detachable and replaceable with smaller or larger members to provide a smaller or greater ballast engaging area. The lower edge of the vertical web has a thickened portion to carry stresses. Rail fastening devices consist of a pair of opposing longitudinally extending shoulders adapted to accommodate the rail flange between them. Each shoulder has a downwardly facing abutment surface, and a resilient rail clip has an intermediate portion that bears upwardly on the abutment surface, an end portion that extends inwardly from the abutment surface and bears resiliently on the upper side of the rail flange.
Abstract:
A railbed comprises a supporting element in the form of a sleeper, plate or the like of a cast compound such as concrete and an insert preferably of electrically insulating material which is grouted or embedded therein.
Abstract:
A fastening system configured to attach railroad crossties to one or more support structures such as the girder of a bridge. The fastening system includes a plate mounted on a crosstie and a clip attached to the plate that is configured to provide a force between the support structure and the crosstie and secure the crosstie in place.
Abstract:
A railroad tie composed of an immiscible polymer blend having a portion of the underside curved orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the tie or curved both orthogonal and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tie, forming a saddle shape, for purposes of reducing the center bounding problems encountered in prior art synthetic railroad ties.
Abstract:
A tie extension bracket comprises a rectangular-shaped box having at least three sides. Two of the sides being arranged parallel to each other and the remaining side being a connecting support plate connecting the two parallel sides to each other. The two parallel sides extending beyond the connecting support plate to form a U-shaped portion dimensioned to receive at least an end portion of a railroad tie therein.
Abstract:
Temporary support structure that provisionally supports the railroad tracks (12) with traffic during the execution of works below the track, such as the jacking of a reinforced concrete box (13) for elimination of a level crossing.
Abstract:
Supporting arrangement intended to be arranged in a shoring zone of railway lines (17), where at least first longitudinal metal beams (12) are arranged parallel to a line of the track on the outer side of each track line (17) so that they are braced by at least one second perpendicular metal beam (14) with a length less than that of the first longitudinal beams (12) and the joining of each longitudinal beam (12) to one end of the perpendicular beam (14) is performed by means of a mechanical fixing means (15).
Abstract:
A machine for collecting tie plates strewn along a rail bed includes a frame adapted for travel along a railroad in a forward direction. A pickup drum having magnetic properties is rotatably supported by the frame and extends over a bed portion of the railroad. A top drum is mounted at a location that is higher and forward of the pickup drum and rotates parallel to the pickup drum. An endless conveyor circulates around the pickup and top drums, and a separation drum is disposed between the pickup drum and the top drum along an ascending portion of the endless conveyor. The separation drum includes a magnetized rim that can lift ferrous objects but not tie plates from the endless conveyor.
Abstract:
A railroad cross tie having an inner core with at least one longitudinally extending metallic reinforcing member and an outer casing. The cross tie includes first and second end caps. The first end cap is disposed proximate a first end of the inner core and the second end cap is disposed proximate a second opposite end. One embodiment of the cross tie includes an expansion gap longitudinally disposed between the first and second end caps. Longitudinal dimensions of the expansion gap varies in response to differential thermal expansion between the inner core and the outer casing. In other embodiments, the end caps are mechanically interlocked with the inner core and the outer casing overlays a portion of the end caps. The disclosed structures securely and reliably attach the end caps to the cross tie. A method of manufacturing cross ties is also disclosed.
