Each fastener pad has a rigid member and a resilient member bonded together and two pins to join the elastomeric member to the track plate.

    摘要: A sound-damping rail assembly for a track for rail vehicles comprises a rail having a pair of downwardly converging flanks below its head and above its base. The rail is received in a frame with downwardly inclined sides, the flanks being braced against these sides by elastomeric layers which are interposed between the flanks and the sides. A further elastic layer can be provided between the base or foot of the rail and the inner supporting surface of the frame and such layers may completely envelop the rail except for the head.

    摘要: A mount for a railroad rail having an inner side turned toward another such rail and an outer side turned away from the other rail has a one-piece base supported on the ground under the one rail and formed with an upwardly open recess having inner and outer base flanks respectively generally under and parallel to the inner and outer sides, the outer base flank being formed as an inwardly overhanging ridge. An insert attached to the rail and received in the recess has respective inner and outer insert edges, the former of which is overhung by the ridge. An elastomeric body lies between the inner flank and inner edge and supports the insert in the base. Due to the overhang of the base edge, it is possible to make the base in one piece at least outward from a location underneath the rail. Thus there is no need to make the base from two parts split along a horizontal plane and requiring tedious assembly in the field.

    摘要: A rail fastener includes a rail plate, a layer of elastomeric material between the plate and a support structure, and a pair of posts for laterally and longitudinally restraining the rail plate, with elastomeric material mounted between the posts and cooperating surfaces of the rail plate. The rail plate, the layer of elastomeric material, and the support structure on which it is mounted form a shear pad. The posts are partially embedded in the support structure and extend through respective openings in the rail plate, the inner peripheries of which are covered with elastomeric material, to provide lateral and longitudinal restraint to the rail plate. Each of these posts is preferably formed of two parts, one of which is embedded in the support structure, and the other of which is an eccentric which is releasably attached thereto. Rotation of the eccentrics provides lateral and longitudinal adjustment of the rail plate with respect to the support structures, thereby providing lateral adjustment of the rail with respect to the support structure. The elastomeric material is preferably polyurethane having a relatively high resistance to abrasion and a known, predictable and well defined coefficient of friction. The posts are of a size which eliminates the possibility of any movement thereof under any expected lateral shear loads which may be imposed on the rail plate.
