    摘要： A marking apparatus is equipped with a measuring device so that the marking apparatus can make a series of equally spaced marks. The marking apparatus includes an elongated can holder which is adapted to hold an aerosol can of marking material and a trigger for opening the valve of the can to spray the marking material on a surface. The measuring device comprises an elongated rod which is provided with a longitudinally extending slot, and the rod is pivotally and slidably connected to the can holder by a pin or bolt which extends through the slot and a wing nut which is threadedly engaged with the pin. The rod is pivotable between a storage position in which it extends alongside the can holder and a measuring position in which it extends angularly away from the can holder toward the surface. The rod can be releasably locked in either position by tightening the wing nut, and the distance between the end of the rod and the wing nut can be varied by sliding the slotted rod relative to the wing nut. A series of equally spaced marks can be made by placing the end of the rod over the previous mark to space the can holder and spray can a constant distance from the mark.

    摘要： There is described a method for road surface marking with tape material, including the steps of forming an essentially bituminous primer layer on such surface and then pressingly laying a prefabricated tape material on said primer layer, such layer being formed with an essentially thermoplastic composition containing at least 60% by weight of solid thermoplastic substances fluidified for intimately contacting the road surface. The layer is capable of quickly solidifying to a viscosity of at least 10.sup.3 - 10.sup.4 cP for receiving the tape material and then up to at least 10.sup.5 cP within 30 seconds to provide a bond between the tape and said surface capable of resisting horizontal stresses of at least 1.5 Kg/cm.sup.2. Thereafter, the later further hardens at ambient temperature resist to a stress of at least 3 Kg/cm.sup.2. There are also described devices for applying such composition and tape and for melting the said solid thermoplastic substances.

    摘要： An actuator for an aerosol can valve is adapted to dispense the contents of the can when the valve is moved laterally. The actuator is generally T-shaped and includes an elongated aligning portion having a pair of spaced-apart generally parallel flat sides and a pair of ends and an attaching portion extending transversely from the aligning portion intermediate the ends thereof. A central bore extends through the attaching and aligning portions and terminates in an elongated spraying slot in the aligning portion which extends parallel to the flat sides of the aligning portion. The central bore is adapted to receive the laterally movable stem of an aerosol can valve, and the attaching portion terminates in a pair of converging beveled surfaces which extend in directions which are generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the spraying slot.

    摘要： A spraying apparatus which is particularly suitable for spraying a marking stripe on pavement, grass, or other surfaces is provided with adjustable axles so that the distance of the spray can from the surface can be changed to vary the width of the stripe and with a wind screen which remains in the same relative position with respect to the surface as the axles are adjusted to protect the spray pattern from wind. The apparatus includes a somewhat box-like frame, and the sides of the frame are provided with generally vertically extending front and rear rows of openings for the front and rear axles. The frame includes holding means for holding an aerosol spray can filled with marking material, and the holding means are constructed and arranged so that the marking material is sprayed substantially below the front of the frame to permit marking stripes to be sprayed right up to an obstacle in front of the spraying apparatus. The wind screen extends around the outside of the frame, and each side of the wind screen is provided with a front and a rear opening through which the front and rear axles extend. The openings in the wind screen are positioned relative to the bottom edge of the wind screen so that the bottom edge will be positioned just above the surface to be sprayed. As the distance of the frame from the surface is varied by inserting the axles through various openings in the frame, the position of the wind screen relative to the surface remains constant since only one opening for each axle is provided through each side of the wind screen.
