No. 3,981,557, comprising a primary focusing transparent body having elliptical sections in planes perpendicular to a rotary symmetry axis of such body, and an equatorial zone about such axis, the system being noted by having a multilayer of complemental reflective means comprising microspheres concentrated on said equatorial zone. There also described a method for producing said system and including rotarily mixing bodies of such geometrical configuration together with an amount of microspheres less than that necessary for forming monolayers all about the entire surfaces of said bodies.

    摘要: There is described a new method for forming dividing lines and other directional data upon the surface or pavement, by means of a base or "primer" layer of generally thermoplastic composition compatible with that of usual road pavements and forming an intermediate layer between the marking tape and the said road pavement, the new method comprising preliminarily applying or forming a primer layer on the lower face of the tape material to provide a two-layer structure, and then applying the thus formed structure to the road pavement, means and steps being provided for ensuring a prompt, complete and firm bonding at the tape-primer layer and at the primer layer-road pavement interfaces.

    摘要: The disclosure describes new and improved reflex reflecting systems of the type comprising a spherical transparent lens having reflex reflective means arranged about it and secured relative thereto and optically associated therewith by means of a transparent binder material, the system being designed to be embedded in part in the surface layer of a traffic regulating sign formed on a traffic carrying surface of a road with the protecting portion of the lens being uncovered and exposed to impinging light, the said lens and the said binder being made of a transparent material the index of refraction of which is from 1.3 to 1.7, preferably about 1.5, and the total transparency parameter of the system, for light impinging under an incidence angle of 80.degree., being greater than 0.2.

    摘要: The invention deals with a road marking tape which has retroreflective elements and protruding anti-skid elements, and which means is provided for preventing damaging of the retroreflective elements by snow plowing means. The preventing means is designed in accordance with the present invention in a special manner as a compressible element which is composed of a compressible material so that in response to impact of the protruding elements of the tape by the snow plowing means the compressible material of the compressible element compresses and the original thickness of the compressible material reduces to a predetermined thickness which is selected so that the protruding element sink into the groove by the depth at least equal to the height of the protruding elements.

    摘要: A pressure regulating marking on a roadway area is formed by applying onto a surface area a traffic-wear resistant layer having a small thickness and constituted by a pigmented resin material, providing a plurality of retroreflective globules having a minimum dimension which is many times greater than the thickness of the traffic-wear resistant layer, wetting the globules by a wetting resin material which is compatible with the pigmented resin material of the traffic-wear resistant material, and applying the globules which are wetted by the wetting resin material, onto the traffic-wear resistant layer, so that the wetting resin material forms, in the region of each of the globules a collar which firmly connects each globule to the traffic-wear resistant layer.
