摘要： The computer includes a computer housing, a cover and a hinge. The hinge overlies the top face of the housing and has three flaps defining a pair of spaced hinged axes, the edge flaps being secured to the rear face of the housing and the proximal edge of the cover, respectively. The cover is pivoted between positions covering the display screen and control elements closing the computer and an open position. In one open position, the cover is pivoted into opposition into the rear face of the housing and latched in that position whereby the cover serves as the base of a stand for the housing with the intermediate flap of the hinge serving as a generally upright support leg supporting and elevating the upper edge of the housing, whereby the display screen and controls lie in a plane inclined to the horizontal.

摘要： A bi-stable hinge unit (10) of elastic material connects two inflexible end portions (12, 13) to take up two stable positions on either side of an intermediate unstable position. The hinge unit (10) comprises two equal elements (14, 15), each of which having two cantilever arms (18, 20), linked to each other by two folding lines (22) acting as a "living" hinge. The elements (14, 15) are arranged substantially parallel to each other with a distance therebetween and forming the main hinge line between said end portions (12, 13). By swinging the end portions (12, 13) toward each other along the main hinge line, the four cantilever arms (18, 20) will start to deflect and act as springs and the two triangular plates (16) will rotate through approximately 180.degree. in a plane normal to the elements (14, 15).

The corner guide, for guiding an optical fibre (7) or the like around a corner (9) whose radius of curvature is less than a permissible minimum radius of curvature Rp for the fibre (7), guides the fibers (7) by means of the duct (6) along a path which extends into three dimensions. At the corner at the hinge between the panels (1, 2), the duct (6) passes through an "x-y" plane containing the corner at an angle for instance of 70.degree.. This enables an arrangement wherein the projection of the duct (6) onto the "x-y" plane includes a bend whose radius of curvature is less than Rp although the path itself does not include such a bend. The invention finds particular application in optical fibre installations in homes or offices, wherever a fibre has to turn a corner, for instance at the corner of a room. Alternatively it finds application in equipment served by optical fibers which include for instance a hinged panel to which the fibers must extend.

The hinge comprises an elongated one-piece extrusion of flexible elastomer material shaped to define a back-to-back pair of generally U-shaped channel strips joined together by a short hinge segment along one side thereof. The channel strips are respectively secured with substantial bond area to adjacent edges of a pair of window panes, with the hinge segment acccommodating relatively free swinging movement of the panes betweeen a normal position lying generally in a common plane and a folded or stacked position for compact storage.

摘要： A unitary snap hinge made of plastic with two hinge parts which are connected with each other by means of a main joint. A flexible connecting piece is connected with the hinge parts by means of secondary joints, whereby the secondary joints have a distance from the main joint transverse to the joint axis and that the joints are designed as film joints. The hinge parts have the tendency to snap into the one or other end position from a position of an unsteady balance within their own pivot range. The snap hinge is a separate structural element. The one hinge part supports a locking element for a removal opening, the other hinge part supports at least one adapter piece with arresting elements. Thereby, the snap hinge can be mounted on a container or on the locking piece of the same. A snap hinge or other hinge made of plastic and which is part of a lock may have tearable parts on its foldable hinge part which during the first time closing of the lock are fixedly connected with the lower part thereof and are torn off during the first time opening.
