    摘要: A manual reset electrical protector (10, 10') has a reset assembly (26, 26') having a guideway (28a, 28a') and track (28c, 28c') in which a slide member (30, 34, 34') is movable between a protracted position interrupting the movement of a movable electrical contact (22) mounted on a thermostatic disc (20) to preventg engagement of the movable contact with a stationary electrical contact (24) and a retracted position in which the movable contact is allowed to move unfettered into the contacts engagement position. A push button (32, 32') has a cam member (32a, 32a') which, when the push button is depressed, rides against a follower (30b, 34b) attached to the slide member, causing the slide member to move to the retracted position against the bias of a spring (30d, 36). The movable contact (22) prevents movement of the slide member to the blocking, protracted position when in the contacts engaged position.

    摘要: A temperature-dependent switch comprises a housing having a lower housing part and a cover part capping said lower housing part. A first countercontact is provided at an inner surface of said cover part, said first countercontact having a projection pointing into said housing. A second countercontact is provided at an inner surface of said lower housing part. Inside of said housing a temperature-dependent switching mechanism is arranged, said mechanism including an electrically conductive spring element having an opening. Dependent on the temperature said spring element assumes at least two distinct switching positions, whereby in its first switching position the spring element is in contact with both said first and second countercontacts, thereby electrically interconnecting said first and second countercontacts. At least when said spring element is in its first switching position, said projection at said first countercontact protrudes into said opening in said spring element, thereby centering the latter in the housing.

    摘要: A safety device for use in a secondary battery having a battery case formed with a hole open to outside of the battery case, and a generating unit airtightly housed in the battery case. The safety device includes a disk spring mounted on the battery case to close the hole and having one side thereof convexed toward the inside of the battery case. A switch is provided on the backside of the disk spring. It is adapted to change over under a stress applied from the disk spring when the disk spring bends backward so that the other side thereof is convexed toward the outside of the battery case. The switch is provided in a current flow path of the secondary battery.

    摘要: A bimetallic disc assembly for a bimetallic disc-actuated thermostatic switch includes a disc retainer, a bimetallic disc received in assembled position on the disc retainer and a metallic retainer cap for retaining the disc in assembled position on the disc retainer and for securing the assembly to the body portion of the thermostatic switch. The disc retainer is adapted to minimize heat flow from the metallic cap to the disc retainer by minimizing the areas of contact between the disc retainer and the cap. The disc retainer is integrally formed from a ceramic material and it includes a central hub having an axial bore extending therethrough, a circular flange extending radially outwardly from the hub, a circular shoulder extending upwardly from the flange, and a peripheral rim extending upwardly from the shoulder. The peripheral rim includes a horizontal edge with a plurality of circumferentially spaced projections or bumps which extend upwardly therefrom. The metal cap is received on the disc retainer and rests upon the projections or bumps which effectively reduce the contact area between the cap and the retainer and thereby minimize the transfer of heat from the cap to the disc retainer. By reducing the heat transfer from the cap to the retainer, heat is more easily transferred from the metallic cap to the bimetallic disc, thereby improving response time.

    摘要: A temperature switching device for an electrotechnical part to be protected against an excess temperature due to a fault, with a first bimetallic switch and an ohmic resistor connected in parallel thereto, so that, after opening the bimetallic switch as a result of an excess temperature, the flow of current takes place across the ohmic resistor, which produces heat and as a result the bimetallic switch is kept open even in the case of the cooling of the excess temperature initially triggering the switching process due to a malfunction of the electrotechnical part to be protected, as a result of the evolution of heat of the ohmic resistor. At least the ohmic resistor is connected in series with a further automatically resettable thermal switch having an opening temperature above that of the first thermal switch, but well below temperatures causing irreversible damage to bimetallic elements and the two thermal switches being in close thermal contact.
