摘要： The present invention provides a color cathode-ray tube that can attenuate vibration of an entire shadow mask positively with a simple structure. The color cathode-ray tube comprises a frame-shaped mask frame and a shadow mask in which many apertures are formed in a flat plate, the shadow mask being stretched and fixed in the mask frame in a condition in which a tension force is applied in one direction. The amplitude in the end portions of the shadow mask is not less than a certain amount relative to the amplitude in the center portion of the shadow mask, in a resonance of the shadow mask caused by a vibration propagated to the color cathode-ray tube. Furthermore, by providing vibration attenuators at the end portions of the shadow mask, vibrations at the end portions of the shadow mask are attenuated as the side surfaces of the shadow mask slide on the vibration attenuators. Thus, vibration of the entire shadow mask can be extinguished positively.

摘要： A method of making a steel sheet for a tension mask, including the steps of: hot rolling a steel consisting essentially of, by weight %, C: less than 0.1%, Si: 0.05% or less, Mn: 0.4 to 2%, P: 0.03% or less, S: 0.03% or less, sol.Al: 0.01% or less, N: 0.010% or more, and the balance of Fe; and annealing the cold rolled steel sheet, followed by a secondary cold rolling at a reduction rate of 35% or higher. The steel sheet produced by this method shows excellent creep resistance during blackening treatment and excellent magnetic shielding property with an anhysteretic permeability of 3400 or more at a DC bias magnetic field of 0.35 Oe, and therefore causes no color-deviation when applied to the tension mask.

摘要： The color cathode ray tube according to the present invention can improve the brightness without compromising strength by making the bridge width in one-dimensional tension type shadow mask narrower to a certain degree. The color cathode ray tube has a color selection electrode, the color selection electrode including a pair of supports facing each other; a shadow mask provided with a plurality of slot apertures, the shadow mask being stretched and fixed by the pair of supports; and elastic members arranged between the supports, and holding the supports. Bridges between vertically adjacent slot apertures are formed on the shadow mask. Defining the bridge width W as the largest vertical width of a bridge, the narrowest bridge width Wmin is in a range of 3-10% of a vertical pitch of the slot apertures. With this configuration, the necessary strength can be ensured, and the brightness can be improved without compromising strength, because the bridge widths W can be made narrower.

摘要： In a color cathode ray tube in which the external surface of an effective portion of a panel has a flat surface or a slight curvature, the shadow mask is set such that the layout distance between electron beam through hole array near the long side of an effective surface of the shadow mask is larger in the vicinity of the short axis than the layout distance at the center of the effective surface. Further, the layout distance becomes gradually smaller in direction away from the short axis, and thereafter, the layout distance changes to an increase. In the vicinity of the short side of the effective surface, the layout distance becomes equal to or larger than the layout distance near the short axis. Therefore, the curvature of the shadow mask and the electron beam through hole array are set in proper condition, and mislanding of beam landing due to deformation or oscillation of the shadow mask can be reduced. At the same time, howling of the phosphor screen can be minimized.

摘要： A color cathode ray tube is provided with a shadow mask structure which includes a shadow mask formed by integrally forming an apertured portion, an imperforate portion and a skirt portion, and a support frame having a frame portion into which the skirt portion is fitted. The skirt portion of the shadow mask has respective long sides and respective short sides thereof recessed inwardly, and the frame portion has respective long sides and respective short sides formed in planes having no welding bosses, and the skirt portion is fitted into and welded to the frame portion. Furthermore, an end of the outside of the skirt portion and the inner wall of the frame portion have respective entire peripheries thereof come into contact with each other. With such a construction, the shadow mask structure has a small magnetic resistance and the shadow mask is prevented from being vibrated at the time an external vibration is applied to the cathode ray tube. Furthermore, the shadow mask can be easily assembled and can provide an apertured portion which is free from deformation.
