    摘要: The electric incandescent lamp has a lamp vessel (1) in which a filament (3) is disposed substantially concentric with the longitudinal axis (2) of the lamp vessel (1). Current conductors (4) extend from the lamp vessel (1), an internal conductor (10) part of which is substantially concentrically with the axis (2) and has an end portion (11) having unround cross-sections (12). An end portion (6) of the filament (3) is wound onto the unround cross-sections (12) of a respective internal conductor (10) to constitute clamping windings (5). The lamp is of a simple construction to obtain reliably a concentrically mounted filament.

    摘要: The high-pressure metal halide discharge lamp has tungsten electrodes in a light-transmitting lamp vessel which is closed in a vacuumtight manner. The electrodes comprise an emitter which is distributed throughout their mass and is formed by a first oxide chosen from hafnium oxide and zirconium oxide and by a second oxide chosen from yttrium oxide, lanthanum oxide, cerium oxide and scandium oxide, and are substantially free from thorium oxide. The lamp retains its initial light output to a high degree throughout its life.

    摘要: The discharge or arc tube chamber of a low-power high-pressure discharge lamp is, in one single step, sealed and shaped by mold or form-blowing by using pinch or press jaws (30, 31) which have concave hollows (34) formed therein to clearly define the shape of the discharge vessel, and hence of the discharge or arc tube chamber, to permit reproducible results with little variation between individual lamps to be made in a single manufacturing step. Additionally, an inclined ramp-like surface can be formed at the narrow sides (14) of the pinch seal extending towards the walls (11) of the discharge chamber (3) to thereby eliminate pockets beneath the electrodes. Preferably, the electrode shafts diverge with respect to the optical axis (A) of the lamp to increase the electrode spacing, and thus permit operation at a lower operating pressure, with respect to prior art lamps.

    摘要: An alkali metal vapor arc discharge lamp which operates on DC and employs an amalgam of mercury and an alkali metal such as sodium, has a cathode to anode pressure ratio no greater than 5 and a cathode end temperature at least 50.degree. C. hotter than the anode end temperature to prevent cataphoretic separation of the mercury and alkali metal in the arc discharge during operation of the lamp. The lamp is designed to have a cataphoretic driving parameter (CDP) value of less than 150. The CDP is defined as the product of the arc current in amperes, times the arc gap length in centimeters, divided by square of the inner diameter of the arc tube in centimeters.

    摘要: A single side-sealed metal vapor discharge lamp is disclosed which includes a discharge tube having a sealed section at one end and a discharge region defining envelope at the other end, a pair of metal foils sealed at the sealed section and a pair of electrodes, the discharge region of the discharge tube containing a rare gas for starting and a filled gas containing mercury and light emitting metal. The electrodes are each comprised of a rod connected to the metal foil and a coil of at least one turn mounted on the forward end portion of a bent end portion of the rod, the coils being oppositely spaced apart by a predetermined distance in the discharge region. The coil is formed of a higher melting point material than a surface material of the forward end portion of the bent portion of the rod. With the length from the bent portion to the forward end of the rod indicated by L1, the length of the coil by L2 and the wire diameter of the coil by d, the following inequalities are satisfied: L1.ltoreq.3d and d/2.ltoreq.L2-L1.ltoreq.3d. According to the lamp, it is possible to firmly mount the coil on the corresponding rod, to reduce less scattering of a material of which the electrode is made, to prevent blackening on the tube wall, to obtain a better starting characteristic and to enhance a lumen maintenance factor.
