摘要: A method, system, or computer program product to enhance the performance of multi-hop cellular networks or other wireless networks is provided. A wireless device (e.g., cellular telephone) is able to communicate with a base-station in a cell of the cellular network over a non-cellular interface via another wireless device in the cell through the use of multi-hopping. By enabling wireless devices to communicate with a base station in such a manner, the effective coverage area of the cellular network is expanded and the effective capacity of the cellular network is improved. Distributed routing, device management, adaptive scheduling, and distributed algorithms can be used to enhance the overall performance of multi-hop cellular networks.

摘要: In some embodiments, a method includes receiving, at a first wireless device of a plurality of wireless devices, a data packet including an indication of a source of the data packet. In response to the first wireless device being associated with the source of the data packet, whether the first wireless device is a local repeater can be determined based on at least one of a random number or a number of wireless devices of the plurality of wireless devices. In response to the first wireless device being determined to be a local repeater, the first wireless device can be caused to be configured as a local repeater such that the first wireless device sends the data packet to at least one remaining wireless device of the plurality of wireless devices.

摘要: A method and apparatus for supporting communication buffer status reports (BSRs) are disclosed. A wireless device may generate a first buffer status report (BSR) associated with first data for transmission to at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). Also, the wireless device may generate a second BSR associated with second data for transmission to a base station. Further, the wireless device may transmit the first BSR and the second BSR in a media access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) to the base station. Additionally, the wireless device may transmit the first data to the at least one WTRU. Moreover, the wireless device may transmit the second data to the base station. In a further example, the wireless device may generate the first BSR and generate the second BSR are based on a priority associated with the first BSR and a priority associated with the second BSR.
