    摘要: A process and apparatus for finish grinding splines or teeth on workpieces is disclosed which includes a device to check the cross-sectional shape of the grinding portion of the grinding wheel between grinding steps. when a grinding wheel is withdrawn from the workpiece, the cross-sectional contour of the grinding wheel is checked. The device for dressing or sharpening the grinding wheel is controlled by data generated by the checking of the cross-sectional contour of the grinding wheel so that the desired contour is maintained. After being withdrawn from the workpiece, the grinding wheel contacts a strip of metal foil to leave an impression of its contour. A checking head mounted on the device checks the contour of the impression left in the metal foil. The checking head is connected to a computer unit which, in turn, controls the operation of the sharpening or dressing device.

    摘要: A hob for cutting gear teeth includes a plurality of generally axially extending and generally circumferentially spaced rows of teeth. The hob is adapted to be thrown away instead of being re-sharpened when the cutting edges of the teeth become worn. Consistent with this, the teeth--rather than being formed with a conventional re-sharpenable profile--are ground so that the tip, the side flanks and the root of each tooth are of a circumferentially concave shape. The grinding is effected by a unique positional mode in which the hob blank is held stationary and in which the grinding wheel is located relative to the blank in such a manner as to enable the use of a wheel of the largest possible diameter for the design criteria of the particular hob being formed.

    摘要: A grinding wheel contains two ring-shaped flanks and is axially displaceable by an axial drive. A radial slide is radially adjustably displaceable relative to the grinding wheel by a radial drive. Both of the displacements in axial and radial direction can be measured by a respective displacement path measuring device. Two dressing tools can be independently reciprocatingly displaced between an operative position and a wear measuring position at the radial slide. A wear measuring device is arranged at the radial slide for measuring in a direction extending substantially parallel to the grinding wheel axis the wear of the dressing tools. The relative displacement in the direction of the grinding wheel axis is governed by the desired flank profile, and a control increases such relative displacement in the direction of the grinding wheel axis by the amount of the wear of the dressing tools.

The position of the active rim is controlled and the grinding wheel adjusted such that the ring-shaped surface or active rim is retained at the same location independent of its wear. The active rim is dressed once within a predetermined dressing interval by means of a likewise axially advanced dressing tool. The dressing tool is then advanced if, within the dressing interval, the grinding disk adjustment or compensating feed has dropped below a predetermined total magnitude.

    摘要: A profiled surface of a rotating tool, such as a grinding disk, for producing cycloid thread flanks in screws, is shaped by a dressing device positionable in engagement with the surface of the disk which forms the threads. The dressing device is movable along a generated screw line determined as a helical line of contact between the screw being produced and an imaginary counter-screw in engagement with the screw. The dressing device includes a traverse bar on which diamond dressing points are positioned and the traverse bar is mounted for selectively moving the dressing point along the generated screw line in contact with the profiled surface of the disk so that the proper profile for forming cycloid thread flanks is obtained.
