    摘要: A method and a system are provided for automatically dressing a grinding wheel used to grind workpieces. A workpiece is scanned to determine dimensions of the workpiece. A computer-readable dimensions datafile is generated containing the dimensions of the workpiece. A processor electronically compares the dimensions of the workpiece with reference or desired dimensions to obtain comparison results, and generates a computer-readable comparison datafile containing the comparison results. The processor transmits the comparison datafile containing the comparison results to a CNC controller, which utilizes the comparison results to control a shaping tool used to shape or dress the grinding wheel so that the grinding wheel produces workpieces having the reference or desired dimensions.

The rotational speed of the grinding wheel and dressing surface preferably are under the control of a computer control system, whereby the speed of rotation of the dressing surface may be adjusted as the diameter of the dressing wheel and as the diameter of the grinding wheel is decreased during use.     摘要: A skate sharpening apparatus is disclosed having top surface (20) and a grinding disc (21) rotatable about a vertical axis above the surface. A bearing body (23, 28) having a free slide support (23) and a blocking section (28) is secured to the surface (20) slidably supports a guide bar (24). The blocking section (28) can be selectively fixed to or released from the guide bar. It is connected to the support (23) by an adjusting device moving the section (28) relative to the support (23) in fine increments. The front end (24b) of the guide bar (24) carries a pivot (34) supporting a lateral arm (35) for swinging about a horizontal swing axis (34a). The free end (36) of the lateral arm (35) carries a dressing tool (37, 37a) with rearwards directed dressing tip. The tool is slidable but can be fixed relative to the free end (36). The calibration of the desired radius of dressing the disc (21) is effected by abutting the dressing tip (38) against the disc (21) while the tip (38) coincides with the swing axis (34a) and then sliding the guide bar (24) by a distance corresponding to the desired radius and then fixing again the tool (37) to the free end (36). A digital or mechanical scale (27) at the support (23) is used in this adjustment. The invention presents an improved dressing tool where the measuring and adjusting elements are removed from the area where the debris released by the dressing might soil them. The caliration of the dressing radius is simpler than in previously known devices.

    摘要: A method for machining an annular layer or coating of grinding discs of boron nitride or diamonds at the circumference and/or the end face of a disc by means of a tool grinding disc which is especially coated with a silicon carbide layer. The workpiece disc is fed with a first predetermined rate of feed towards the workpiece disc. After the contact of the tool disc with the workpiece disc the tool disc is fed with a reduced rate of feed until a cylindrical or plane surface of the grinding coating of the workpiece disc is achieved. One or a plurality of ultrasonic sensors measure the sound or the vibration generated by the spindle of the workpiece disc. The sound or vibration analyzed in order to automatically reduce the rate of speed if at least one ultrasonic sensor detects contact between the tool disc and the workpiece disc. The grinding process is stopped if at least one of the sensors detects that the workpiece disc is cylindrical or plane, respectively, at least during one revolution term.
