摘要: An aggregate pier compacting system for forming a compacted aggregate pier (AP) at a target location includes a mandrel, a tamper device, and a finishing tamper device. The mandrel includes a casing for housing a drilling shaft (DS). An external vibratory hammer (EVH) repeatedly impacts a hammer element (HE) extending from the DS. The DS transfers the impact to a bore head to form a cavity at the target location. The DS is removed and the casing is filled with aggregate. The tamper device includes a compacting shaft. The EVH impacts a second HE extending from the compacting shaft and transfers the impact to a compaction head to form the compacted AP. The finishing tamper device includes a shaft. The EVH impacts a third HE extending from the shaft and transfers the impact to a finishing head compacting a top layer of the AP to form a finished AP.

摘要: A fatigue resistant gravity based spread footing under heavy multi-axial cyclical loading of a wind tower. The foundation having a central vertical pedestal, a substantially horizontal continuous bottom support slab, a plurality of radial reinforcing ribs extending radially outward from the pedestal. The pedestal, ribs and slab forming a continuous monolithic structure. The foundation having a three-dimensional network of post-tensioning elements that keep the structural elements under heavy multi-axial post compression with a specific eccentricity intended to reduce stress amplitudes and deflections and allows the foundation to have a desirable combination of high stiffness and superior fatigue resistance. The foundation design reduces the weight and volume of materials used, reduces cost, and improves heat dissipation conditions during construction by having a small ratio of concrete mass to surface area thus eliminating the risk of thermal cracking due to heat of hydration.

摘要: A method for forming a cementitious retaining wall is described. The method includes the step of defining on an earth surface an outline of the wall to be formed. The outline delimits an area of earth to be excavated. The method also includes the step of compacting the area. After compaction, the earth underneath and adjacent to the area is densified, which provides stability to the earth during excavation and after the wall is formed. The method also includes the step of excavating the earth from the area compacted to an initial depth, thereby creating a wall cavity. The method further includes the step of compacting the bottom surface of the wall cavity and subsequently excavating the earth from the compacted bottom surface. This step can be repeated as much as required, under a final depth of the wall cavity is reached. Once the final depth is reached, the wall cavity can be filled at least partially a cementitious material so as to form the retaining wall.

摘要: At least one cable is attached to a load lying on the ground via a releasable connection mechanism. A traction force is applied to the cable to hoist the load up to a prescribed height. That traction force is then eliminated or reduced to initiate a downward movement of the load followed by the cable. The connection mechanism is then released while the load is moving downwardly.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for installing a hollow pile into an earth formation. The pile is provided with a closed bottom and perforations in a section of its wall near the bottom end and/or bottom closing plate. In this method, the pile is driven into the earth formation and liquid thermo-setting resin-forming composition is displaced through the pile and the perforations to permeate the formation where it solidifies and forms a consolidated mass. 摘要: A seabed mound creating method suitable for a construction of a large scale offshore structure comprises the steps of setting up a plurality of sheet piles along the outer periphery of a mound creation region in a seabed area of soft ground to form an earth-retaining wall projecting from the seabed, and raising the ground level of the seabed within the earth-retaining wall by depositing soft soil into the earth-retaining wall to heap the deposited soil to a predetermined height. The method further comprises the step of implementing a ground improvement process to both the heaped-up soft soil and the soft ground of the seabed within the earth-retaining wall so that the ground improvement process is provided to a predetermined depth below the seabed, thus to form a seabed mound integral with the improved ground. The seabed mound may be provided at the upper portion with a projection area serving as a shear key with respect to a horizontal external force. Such a seabed mound can eliminate difficulty in supplying mound materials even when constructing a structure in an offshore area. When the ground improvement process is equally implemented to both a seabed ground and the heaped up soft soil, the seabed integrally formed with the improved ground can be created. Thus, a great shear strength due to such an integral structure can resist a horizontal external force, thereby ensuring high security.
