    摘要: In an automatic gas-driven firing weapon such as a machine cannon, an improved arrangement for pre-selecting the cadence of firing bursts. The weapon includes at least one first conduit in the gun barrel for conducting at least a portion of the gases formed at firing to an outlet of this first conduit. The housing of the weapon has a second and one or more third conduits for respectively conducting gases to the ammunition feed drive and the breech block drive. A ring body is rotatably mounted on the housing and is disposed between the first conduit, on the one hand, and the second and third conduits, on the other hand. The ring body has a plurality of passages of different cross-sections which can be positioned by rotating the ring body so as to provide a communication passage of pre-selected cross-section between the first conduit and the second and third conduits.

    摘要: An improvement in gas operated firearms having means for regulating the flow of gas from the barrel of the firearm to the piston which operates the action of the firearm. The improvement is a device which eliminates the necessity of having to change the barrels to accommodate different types of ammunition and loads. The improvement embodies a combined gas regulator and piston receiver associated with the reciprocating piston that actuates the action of the firearm. The combined gas regulator and piston receiver is reversible and in either of its positions fits in sealing relationship against the member which depends from the barrel of the gun and contains the gas orifices that deliver the gas from the barrel, to the regulator. The regulator-receiver has a bore that fits on the forearm shaft. Equally angularly spaced axial passageways are provided of partial circular configuration at the internal diameter of the regulator. An axial bore or passageway is also provided through the regulator. In one position of the regulator the angularly spaced passageways are closed by a shoulder on the forearm shaft. At one end of the regulator bypass holes or cutouts which are counter-bores are provided at the positions of the axial passageways to provide bypass passageways around the shoulder on the shaft. In this way the regulator can accommodate to different ammunition.

    摘要: A gas operated firearm capable of at least semi-automatic operation, the firearm including a receiver having a barrel connected thereto, the barrel including a bore with a plurality of radially extending ports through the barrel from the bore. A breach bolt is mounted for reciprocation in the receiver and is adapted for abutting registration in a first position with the cartridge chamber, and includes a locking lug for maintaining the bolt in position abutting the cartridge, when the cartridge is in the chamber. A slide is mounted for reciprocation on the receiver and includes a camming surface which cooperates with the cam on the bolt for unlocking the bolt and effecting reciprocation of the bolt in the receiver upon the slide being drawn to the rear of the firearm. An annular piston registers with the terminal forward end of the slide, the piston circumscribing the barrel and being slidably mounted for movement therealong, the skirt portion of the piston being spaced radially from the barrel and overlying the gas ports in the barrel. A gas flow adjuster or sleeve is mounted for axial displacement along the barrel to, if desired, at least partially cover the ports, thereby permitting metering of the flow of gas to the piston, or restrict such flow entirely if single shot operation is desired, when operating the firearm.
