    Abstract: A disclosed pulsed-power drilling system may include a controller that receives and analyzes feedback from downhole components reflecting changing conditions or performance measurements associated with a pulsed drilling operation to determine that an operating parameter of the drilling operation should be modified. The controller may output a control signal to cause an adjustment of a configurable downhole component, such as mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic component that affects the operating parameter, while the drill bit remains in the wellbore. The controller may adjust a segmented transformer of a pulse-generating circuit, changing the number of primary winding switches that are fired, or the timing of the firing of the switches, to modify characteristics of the generated pulses. Adjusting a downhole component may affect the drilling rate, the drilling direction, the flow of drilling fluid, a pulse rise time, a pulse repetition rate, or a rate of penetration for the drilling operation.

    Abstract: Provided in one embodiment is a continuous process for converting waste plastic into recycle for polyethylene polymerization. The process comprises selecting waste plastics containing polyethylene and/or polypropylene, and passing the waste plastics through a pyrolysis reactor to thermally crack at least a portion of the polyolefin waste and produce a pyrolyzed effluent. The pyrolyzed effluent is separated into offgas, a pyrolysis oil and optionally wax comprising a naphtha/diesel and heavy fraction, and char. The pyrolysis oil is passed to a refinery FCC unit from which a liquid petroleum gas C3 olefin/paraffin mixture fraction is recovered, as well as a C4 olefin/paraffin mixture fraction. The liquid petroleum gas C3 olefin/paraffin mixture fraction is passed to a steam cracker for ethylene production. The C4 olefin/paraffin mixture fraction is passed to a refinery alkylation unit, from which a n-butane and naphtha feed for a stream cracker to produce ethylene is recovered.

    Abstract: 2D slices/images may be extracted from a three-dimensional volume of subsurface data. Image comparison analysis across sequential 2D slices/images may identify boundaries within the corresponding subsurface region, such as changes in style of deposition or reservoir property distribution. Identification of temporal/spatial boundaries in the subsurface region where subsurface properties change may facilitate greater understanding of the scales and controls on heterogeneity, and connectivity between different locations.

    Abstract: A method is described for seismic amplitude analysis including receiving a seismic dataset representative of a subsurface volume of interest wherein the seismic dataset includes an angle or angle stack dimension; select a plurality of sets of sub-cubes in the seismic dataset wherein each set of sub-cubes includes a plurality of the angles or the angle stacks; compute standard score statistics for each of the plurality of sub-cubes; identify amplitude variation with angle (AVA) anomalies based on the standard score statistics for each of the set of sub-cubes; classify the AVA anomalies to generate classified AVA anomalies; and displaying, on a user interface, the classified AVA anomalies as a graphical display. The method is executed by a computer system.
