    Abstract: A torque tuning method includes a high-frequency induction heating apparatus that generates a magnetic field from a coil by passing an alternating current (i) to the coil, which is arranged so as to be separated from an outer housing. By passing the current (i) having a predetermined frequency from the high-frequency induction heating apparatus to the coil, a ball portion is induction-heated by a magnetic field generated from the coil through which the current (i) flows, and after the ball portion has reached a temperature at which a ball seat can be deformed by induction heating, the current (i) is stopped and the ball portion is cooled.

    Abstract: A coil spring for use in a link-motion-type suspension includes a lower end turn portion, an upper end turn portion, and an effective portion of a cylindrical shape between the lower end turn portion and the upper end turn portion. Further, the coil spring includes a bowing control portion including a taper portion formed in at least one end turn portion of the lower end turn portion and the upper end turn portion. The taper portion has a shape whose thickness is reduced from the middle of the end turn portion toward a distal end of a wire along its length, and bowing of the effective portion is suppressed by absorbing a change in the inclination of a spring seat by the taper portion.

    Abstract: A positioning method positions a flexure whose front end side is joined to an outside frame with respect to a load beam, keeps the positioned state of the flexure and load beam, plastically deforms the outside frame to bend the front end side of the flexure so that the position of a tongue of the flexure is adjusted to the position of a dimple of the load beam, and joins the flexure and load beam to each other to keep the position adjusted state of the tongue.

    Abstract: This coil spring has a part of high hardness and a part of lower hardness than the part. Also, it is preferable that the hardness of the part that comes into contact with other members is lower than the hardness of the part other than the part that comes into contact with the other members. Moreover, it is preferable that the hardness of an end turn part of the coil spring is lower than the hardness of the part other than the end turn part.     Abstract: The present invention provides a method of surely detecting a crack in piezoelectric elements regardless of size of the crack. The method includes applying voltage to a first piezoelectric element of a pair of piezoelectric elements to cause deformation in the first piezoelectric element, forcibly deforming a second piezoelectric element of the pair of the piezoelectric elements to generate voltage from the second piezoelectric element according to the deformation of the first piezoelectric element, finding a transfer function of the pair of the piezoelectric elements based on values of the applied voltage and the generated voltage, and detecting presence or absence of a crack in the pair of the piezoelectric elements based on an objective value obtained from the found transfer function.

    Abstract: A coil spring for a vehicle suspension according to one embodiment includes a lower end turn portion, an upper end turn portion, and a cylindrical effective portion between the lower end turn portion and the upper end turn portion. In at least one of the upper end turn portion and the lower end turn portion, a taper portion having a taper length and a taper thickness for controlling a force line of the coil spring is formed. The taper portion is formed such that the thickness is reduced in a tapered way from a thickness varying portion provided in the middle of the end turn portion toward a distal end of the wire along its length. The thickness varying portion is arranged at a position close to the force line.
