    摘要: A near-infrared reflecting composite pigment comprises a near-infrared non-absorbing colorant and a white pigment coated with the near-infrared non-absorbing pigment. The near-infrared reflecting composite pigment can be produced by mixing a colorant dispersion, in which the near-infrared non-absorbing colorant is dispersed in a liquid medium, with the white pigment in a form selected from powder or a dispersion and then drying the resultant mixture. A near-infrared reflecting coating agent comprises as a coloring agent the near-infrared reflecting composite pigment. A near-infrared reflecting material comprises a base material coated on a surface thereof with the near-infrared reflecting coating agent.

    摘要: Non-flying plastic microballoons are produced by bringing unexpanded, expandable plastic microballoons, which have been heated to a temperature lower than an expansion starting temperature thereof, and a mixture of a wetting agent and gas, the mixture having been heated to a temperature at least equal to the expansion starting temperature of the expandable plastic microballoons, into contact with each other to cause expansion of the expandable plastic balloons, and then cooling the resulting expanded plastic balloons.

    摘要: Described is a back-side coating formulation for a heat-sensitive recording material. The coating formulation comprises, in a liquid medium, a reaction product obtained by reacting (a) a polysiloxane compound containing at least one functional group reactive with an isocyanate group, (b) a silane coupling agent containing at least one functional group selected from a functional group reactive with an isocyanate group or an isocyanate group, and (c) a polyisocyanate. The reaction product has been obtained by conducting the reaction under the condition of R>1 or R.ltoreq.1, R being an equivalent ratio of isocyanate group(s) to group(s) reactive with isocyanate group(s) (isocyanate group(s)/group(s) reactive with isocyanate group(s)) and in the case of R.ltoreq.1, the silane coupling agent contains at least one hydrolyzable group in addition to the reactive group.

    摘要: A disazo pigment is prepared by coupling the tetrazo compound of 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine with an acetoacetanilide compound which is other than those represented by the below-described general formula (I) and is free of water-soluble groups. In the present invention, about 0.5-50 mole % of the acetoacetanilide compound is replaced by a compound represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R means a methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group.
