Abstract:
For notifying messages received in a messaging system to a terminal, for example a mobile radio telephone, a notification server sends the terminal a notification including addresses of graphical elements supplied by message analyzer means and in corresponding relationship to events of all of the messages received. In the terminal, an image construction system connected to a graphical element database constructs and shows a behavior of the vector image made up of graphical elements selected in the database as a function of the graphical element addresses included in the notification transmitted.
Abstract:
Disclosed systems for selectively associating cues with stored video frames, and methods of operation. An exemplary video processing system comprises a video recording system and a video playback system. The video recording system (i) receives a digital content stream and (ii) stores the video track data associated therewith as video frames in a storage device. The video recording system comprises a content detection controller operable, in response to received content descriptor data, to (i) detect a subset of the video frames associated with select content in the received digital content stream, and (ii) associate a cue with at least one of the subset of the video frames.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a signal intended to be transmitted towards a plurality of receivers, of the type comprising at least two source signals and consisting of a plurality of independently modulated substantially orthogonal carrier frequencies distributed over a predetermined frequency band. According to the invention, said frequency band null(12)null is divided into at least two frequency sub-bands null(131-134)null each comprising a set of said substantially orthogonal carrier frequencies null(11)null, and to each of said sub-bands is allocated one of said source signals, so that a receiver may retrieve from the transmitted signal, by filtration, at least one of said sub-bands and perform demodulation processing only on the carrier frequencies contained in the retrieved sub-bands. The invention also relates to a transmission process as well as to a receiver of such signal.
Abstract:
A long-distance optical transmission system comprising pulse emitter and receiver means (1, 2) and an optical line (3) which extends between said emitter and receiver means (1, 2) and which comprises alternating segments (3a, 3b) of dispersive fibers having chromatic dispersion of opposite signs, and also having a plurality of amplifiers (4), the system being characterized in that the optical line (3) comprises a plurality of pairs of dispersive fiber segments (3a, 3b) having chromatic dispersion of opposite signs between successive amplifiers (4), and in that the cumulative dispersion C over the majority of the segments of the optical line satisfies the relationship (R)nullCnullnullnull2
Abstract:
A method of setting up two-way optical communication between a central unit and a remote unit suitable for operating in a given communication mode selected from a plurality of communication modes. A plurality of frame patterns is defined in the central unit, with each frame pattern being appropriate to one of the communication modes. The plurality of frame patterns are sent sequentially until a coherent response is obtained from the remote unit, the communication mode of the remote unit being the mode which corresponds to the frame pattern which gave rise to the coherent response.
Abstract:
A method and device are provided for enabling drag and drop targets of a first object onto one of a plurality of second objects in a graphical user interface (GUI), each object being characterized by a respective size. The method includes receiving a drag input on the first object, determining one or more second objects onto which the first object may is likely to be dropped using at least the received drag input, and altering the size of the first object based on the determined one or more second objects respective sizes.
Abstract:
A method for consulting a voice message received and a method for providing a compounded voice message. The compounded voice message is composed of at least one first and one second voice component and is associated with a group of items of information relating to the voice components. The method for consultation includes reading at least one voice component of the voice message, detecting at least one user interaction concomitant upon the reading of the at least one voice component, sending at least one signal relating to the interaction detected, and receiving a command of an action to be performed relating to a voice component read from the voice message and to at least one item of information of the group of items of information associated with the voice message. Also provided is a device implementing the method for consulting a compounded voice message.
Abstract:
A method is provided to share a content stored on a secured server. The content is associated to a first electronic device and encrypted using a public key of the first electronic device. The secured server stores a first re-encryption key from the first electronic device to a second electronic device. The method is implemented by the secured server and includes the steps of determining association of the content with the second electronic device, re-encrypting the content using the first re-encryption key, sending the content to the second electronic device for encryption using a second device public key and storing the encrypted content received from the second electronic device in association with the second electronic device.
Abstract:
A method is provided for communication between a first device and a second device. The first device includes a user interface and a display controlled by the user interface. The method includes the following steps executed by the first device: emitting a message for establishing a communication session with the second device, receiving a message of acknowledgement from the second device completing establishment of the session, the reception of the message triggering a guidance mode, and while in the guidance mode: receiving from the second device a message including at least one parameter representing an input on a specific element of a user interface intended to be detected by the user interface of the first device, identifying the input on a specific element of a user interface based on the received parameter, and displaying a graphical representation of the input on a specific element of a user interface.
Abstract:
A indexing engine and method are provided for operating an indexing engine that parses and indexes data created by a set of users associated with a business entity on a database while interacting with a service associated to the database, the method comprising: monitoring the users' interactions with the database related to a creation of new data by one or more of the users over a predefined period of time when using the service; monitoring service availability during these interactions over the same predefined period of time; and changing an indexing frequency based on both parameters associated with the monitoring of the users' interactions and the service usage conditions.
