摘要: The present invention relates to a cellular communications network and in particular to the problem of identifying cells for neighbor lists, or handover candidates when the cells are identified by a limited number of non-unique identities. The present invention includes a method for a radio base station, wherein the base station receives reports from one or more terminals in neighbor cells quality and non-unique identities. The match is sought in a neighbor cell list non-unique identity with a unique cell identity. If the match cannot be made without ambiguity, the base station causes the terminal to detect the unique cell identity. If the reason for the ambiguity is the particular cell is not included in the neighbor cell list it is included when its unique identity has been established. The uniquely identified cell is used if it is determined to perform a handover.

摘要: The technology described automatically resolves cell identity collisions/conflicts in a cellular radio communications network. A detecting node determines that a first cell identifier associated with a first conflicting cell is the same as a second cell identifier associated with a second conflicting cell. One of the first and second conflicting cells is selected to change its cell identifier. A different cell identifier is determined for the selected cell. The different cell identifier is then provided to other cells and preferably to user equipment (UE) terminals without disrupting ongoing UE communications.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a communication network node for enabling auto-tuning of preamble sequences used during random access procedures when user equipments (18) are accessing a communication network system comprising radio base stations (15) each serving at least one cell (19) and with which said user equipments (18) are communicating on uplink (13) and downlink (12) channels. An initial set of RACH preamble sequences in one cell of a radio base station (15) and statistics on RACH usage and information on identified RACH preamble sequences potentially conflicting between neighbors of said radio base station (15) is collected. The collected statistics is used for optimizing said set of RACH preamble sequences, whereby the initial set of RACH preamble sequences is replaced with the optimized set of RACH preamble sequences.

摘要: A method in a radio network node for identifying a candidate cell for handover of a user equipment is provided. The radio network node receives, from the user equipment, a first cell identifier associated with the candidate cell. The radio network node signals a cell identification request to at least one base station serving a cell using the first cell identifier. The cell identification request comprises a user equipment identifier associated with the user equipment (102), and requests any cell wherein the user equipment associated with the user equipment identifier can be detected. The radio network node receives a cell identification response comprising a second cell identifier associated with a detecting cell, served by a detecting base station, wherein the user equipment associated with the user equipment identifier is detected. The radio network node then identifies the candidate cell based on the received second cell identifier.

摘要: A method in a base station for assisting a network management unit in managing a cellular network is provided. The base station determines a status of the cellular network. The status affects a measurement of a quality of a radio channel between the base station and a user equipment comprised in the cellular network. The measurement is to be performed by the user equipment. The base station receives a feedback report from the user equipment comprising the measurement. The base station evaluates a validity of the measurement based on the determined status. The base station sends a report to the network management unit. The report comprises an indication of the measurement and an indication of the validity, thereby assisting the network management unit in managing the cellular network.

摘要: The present invention relates to an arrangement, a communication network node and method for cell outage compensation in a communication network system comprising a plurality of communication network nodes (15a, 15b) communicating with user equipments (18), where each network node (15a, 15b) is serving at least one cell (19a, 19b), in which the user equipments (18) are situated, via two or more reconfigurable physical antennas (15a1, 15a2, 15b1, 15b2) configured according to an initial antenna parameter set. Cell outage is determined in a network node (15b). One of the reconfigurable physical antennas (15a2) of at least one cell (19a) is made temporarily available for compensation. The available antenna (15a2,) is prepared for compensation by reconfiguring one or more antenna parameters thereof in accordance with a compensating antenna parameter set. A new compensating cell (20) is transmitted from the prepared antenna (15a2). Upon cell recovery the compensating cell (20) is removed and the reconfigurable physical antennas (15a2) of the compensating cell (20) returned to the initial antenna parameter set.

摘要: A device estimates a load on the device based on static and dynamic load information associated with the device, provides the estimated load to the other devices in a pool of devices, and estimates, based on the estimated load, a weight of the device in the pool. The device also detects a load imbalance in the pool based on the estimated weight and weights associated with the other devices in the pool, and determines, based on the estimated load, a number of subscribers to offload from the device. The device further determines, based on the estimated weight and the weights associated with the other devices, to which of the other devices to offload the determined number of subscribers, and offloads, to address the load imbalance, the determined number of subscribers to the determined other devices in the pool.
