摘要: Methods, network control nodes, network nodes and user equipments for assisting the updating of neighbor cell information when a new cell is introduced, or added, to an already existing radio access network are described in this disclosure. According to an example embodiment a signal is transmitted, from a first network control node 10 associated with RAN1 to a second network control node 20 associated with RAN2. This signal comprises a cell identity CI1, e.g. a Local Cell Identity LCI1, of the newly introduced cell C109, which is added to RAN1. Next, the second network control node 20 of RAN2 receives the signal comprising the cell identity CI1 of this newly introduced cell C109. In response, the second network control node 20 transmits, to at least one user equipment 30e associated with the RAN2, a signal comprising the received cell identity CI1 of the newly introduced cell C109 as well as a request to the at least one UE 30e associated with RAN2 to search for the newly introduced cell C109 of RAN1, which is controlled by network node 40.

摘要: A method in a base station for assisting a network management unit in managing a cellular network is provided. The base station determines a status of the cellular network. The status affects a measurement of a quality of a radio channel between the base station and a user equipment comprised in the cellular network. The measurement is to be performed by the user equipment. The base station receives a feedback report from the user equipment comprising the measurement. The base station evaluates a validity of the measurement based on the determined status. The base station sends a report to the network management unit. The report comprises an indication of the measurement and an indication of the validity, thereby assisting the network management unit in managing the cellular network.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for estimating performance in a mobile network, a method for generating a performance map, use of such methods, a network management system, and a network node in the mobile network for performing the methods. The exemplary method including receiving localized user equipment measurements from a user equipment in the mobile network, including the user equipment measurements in sets and determining at least one antenna characteristics model for the set of user equipment measurements. A path loss model is determined for the user equipment measurements. A localized performance measurement is determined by deducting an estimated antenna impact from the estimated path loss for the user equipment measurement. The operations are repeated to generate a spatial performance map for the mobile network, wherein updates of the spatial performance map are based on further user equipment measurements from the user equipment in the mobile network.

摘要: A method in a radio network node is disclosed for handling positioning data in a radio communications network, which radio network node serves a user equipment in a cell. The radio network node obtains positioning data from the user equipment, which positioning data is associated with a positioning measurement for positioning the user equipment. The radio network node associates the obtained positioning data with an on-going trace session of the user equipment. The radio network node then sends a trace record to a network management node, which trace record includes information associated with the positioning data.

摘要: A method in a first radio network node (105, 110, 120) for handling positioning of a first user equipment (110) is provided. The first radio network node (105, 110, 120) defines a criterion relating to at least one measurable radio quality of the first user equipment (110). The criterion is based on historical measurements of the at least one radio quality of at least one second user equipment having experienced a radio event. Fulfilment of the criterion is an indication that the radio event is upcoming for the first user equipment (110). The first radio network node (105, 110, 120) receives a current measurement of the at least one radio quality of the first user equipment (110), for which first user equipment (110) the radio event is currently upcoming. When the criterion is fulfilled, the first radio network node (105, 110, 120) triggers positioning of the first user equipment (110).

摘要: The technology described here allows a cell to change a cell identity without disrupting ongoing communication in that cell. In one non-limiting example embodiment, a cell identity change message is sent by a base station to one or more UEs being served in that base station. That message includes at least a new cell identifier and preferably also includes information indicating when that new cell identifier becomes active. In another non-limiting example embodiment, a cell identity change message is sent by a base station changing its cell identity to one or more neighboring base stations.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a communication network node for enabling automatic planning and handling of root sequences used at random access in a communication network system, wherein user equipments (18) are accessing a cell (19a) being served by said communication network node. Root sequence usage information from neighboring cells (19b, 19c) is acquired. Root sequence conflicts between root sequences used in said served cell (19a) and root sequences used in said neighboring cells (19b, 19c) are detected. When no conflict is detected, appropriate new root sequence(s) is/are selected. Otherwise, detected root sequence conflicts are resolved by deriving a new set of root sequences.

摘要: A method in a communication system for managing energy consumption of base stations within the communication system includes computing a marginal energy value for a first base station based on an energy source type of the first base station and computing a marginal energy value for a second base station based on an energy source type of the second base station. The method also includes comparing the marginal energy value for the first base station and the marginal energy value for the second base station. Additionally, the method includes adjusting an amount of wireless communication managed by the first base station in relation to the second base station, such that the amount of wireless communication managed by the first base station is increased if the first base station has a lower marginal energy value than the second base station, or the amount of wireless communication managed by the first base station is decreased if the first base station has a higher marginal energy value than the second base station.
