Abstract: In one example embodiment, a wound imaging system includes a user interface, a computer processor, and an active contouring module. The user interface is configured to display an image of a wound acquired by the wound imaging system and selectively receive inputs from a user defining an initial perimeter of the wound. An active contouring module is configured to operate on the computer processor to receive the inputs defining the initial perimeter of the wound, identify features of the image on opposing sides of the initial perimeter of the wound, and identify an actual perimeter of the wound based on the initial perimeter of the wound and the identified features. The user interface is further configured to display, on the image of the wound, the actual perimeter of the wound as identified by the active contouring module and selectively receive inputs from the user to modify the actual perimeter of the wound.

Abstract: A negative pressure wound therapy system includes a dressing, a tube, a flow restriction pad, and an in-line filter. The dressing is configured for placement in a wound bed. The tube includes a first end and a second end. The first end is configured to be operably coupled to the dressing. The second end is configured to engage a negative pressure source. The flow restriction pad is configured to be coupled to the dressing proximate the first end of the tube. The flow restriction pad includes a tortuous fluid flow path that is configured to restrict or reduce an amount of a fluid drawn from the dressing into the tube and induce a backpressure between the dressing and the tube. The in-line filter is positioned within the tube between the first end and the second end. The in-line filter configured to substantially prevent the fluid entering the tube.

Abstract: Systems, assemblies, and methods for providing negative-pressure therapy to a tissue site are described. The system can include an absorbent and a sealing layer configured to cover the absorbent. The system can also include a blister fluidly coupled to the absorbent. The blister may have a collapsed position and an expanded position. A first check valve may be fluidly coupled to the absorbent and the blister and configured to prevent fluid flow from the blister into the absorbent if the blister is moved from the expanded position to the collapsed position. A second check valve may be fluidly coupled to the blister and the ambient environment and configured to prevent fluid flow from the ambient environment into the blister if the blister is moved from the collapsed position to the expanded position.

Abstract: A selectively transparent wound therapy dressing, system, and method of use are provided. The dressing may include conformable foam and drape layers, wherein the drape layer has a refractive index substantially within a range of a disclosing liquid. When the disclosing liquid is applied to the drape layer, the drape layer may switch from opaque to transparent. Subsequent evaporation of the disclosing liquid may return the drape layer to an opaque state. Some embodiments provide for paired use with a negative pressure source input device. The method of use provides selective visibility of a treatment site, and reduces the amount of time in which a patient views an acute or traumatic wound or injury.

Abstract: A liquid-collection canister includes a liquid collection chamber defined by at least one wall and a first and second gas-communication pathway formed within the at least one wall. A first aperture is positioned between the first gas-communication pathway and the liquid collection chamber to allow gaseous communication between the liquid collection chamber and the first gas-communication pathway. A second aperture is positioned between the second gas-communication pathway and the liquid collection chamber to allow gaseous communication between the liquid collection chamber and the second gas-communication pathway. A first and a second liquid-air separator are positioned over the first aperture and the second aperture, respectively, to substantially prevent liquid passing through the first and second apertures.

Abstract: In one example embodiment, a system for treating a tissue site is disclosed comprising a dressing adapted to contact the tissue site and provide a fluid seal between a therapeutic environment and a local external environment, and a solution source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to deliver an antimicrobial solution comprising a peroxy α-keto carboxylic acid, such as peroxy pyruvic acid, to the tissue interface. The system may further comprise a negative-pressure source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to provide negative pressure to the therapeutic environment after delivery of the antimicrobial fluid to the therapeutic environment. In another example embodiment, a method for treating a tissue site is disclosed comprising positioning a tissue interface to contact the tissue site, covering the tissue interface and the tissue site with a drape to provide a fluid seal between the therapeutic environment and the local external environment, and delivering an antimicrobial solution comprising peroxy α-keto carboxylic acid to the therapeutic environment before providing negative pressure to the therapeutic environment.
