Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform substantially concurrent communications with a next generation network node and a legacy network node. The wireless device may be configured to stablish a first wireless link with a first cell according to a RAT, where the first cell operates in a first system bandwidth and establish a second wireless link with a second cell according to a RAT, where the second cell operates in a second system bandwidth. Further, the wireless device may be configured to perform uplink activity for both the first RAT and the second RAT by TDM uplink data for the first RAT and uplink data for the second RAT if uplink activity is scheduled according to both the first RAT and the second RAT.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for enhancement of network slicing for a UE. A UE may receive, from an AMF of a network, application related information associated with network slice data routing for data associated with an application. The information may be provided to the network by network slice customers. The UE may, in response to application initiation, determine traffic routing for data associated with the application. Traffic routing may be based on the application related information and a UE configuration associated with user privacy (e.g., user privacy setting) associated with the application. When the user UE configuration is enabled, the data may be routed via a default network slice and when the UE configuration is disabled, the data may be routed via a network slice indicated by the application related information. The UE configuration may be indicated by the application via a Boolean flag and/or via a user interface setting.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to detect intermodulation issues and configure a transmission scheme to remedy detected intermodulation issues. The wireless device may perform measurements on a downlink carrier while one uplink carrier is scheduled for the wireless device. The wireless device may also perform measurements on the downlink carrier while two uplink carriers are scheduled for the wireless device. The wireless device may provide information based on those measurements to a serving base station. The base station may determine that an intermodulation issue is occurring at the wireless device based on the information provided, and may configure the wireless device to use a single uplink carrier at a time based at least in part on the intermodulation issue.

Abstract: An interface circuit in an electronic device (such as an access point) may provide a wake-up beacon to a recipient electronic device. During operation, the interface circuit may provide a wake-up beacon associated with a predefined sub-channel in one or more channels in a band of frequencies, where the wake-up beacon is for a wake-up radio in the recipient electronic device. Moreover, the wake-up beacon may be provided within an associated time interval, such as a keep-alive interval of the electronic device. In some embodiments, the wake-up beacon includes a field with channel information that specifies one or more second channels used by a main radio in the recipient electronic device. Alternatively or additionally, the wake-up beacon may include a field with service information that specifies one or more types of services and/or a field with information specifying a transmit power of the interface circuit.

Abstract: A network controller, a user equipment (UE) device, and associated methods for conducting intelligent enhanced multimedia broadcast multicast services (eMBMS). A network controller receives user preference information and location information from a plurality of UEs. The network controller selects one or more data packages to transmit using eMBMS in one or more broadcast regions based on the user preference information and the location information. The one or more data packages may comprise an updated machine learning model in a distributed learning application. The network controller provides an indication to a remote device to broadcast the one or more data packages in the respective one or more broadcast regions using eMBMS.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing cellular communication in unlicensed spectrum using a flexible slot structure. A cellular base station may perform a listen-before-talk procedure, and may transmit a reservation frame when the listen-before-talk procedure is successful. The reservation frame may reserve a wireless medium for a transmit opportunity. Transmission slots may be scheduled for communication with one or more wireless devices during the transmit opportunity. The transmission slots may be selected from multiple possible uplink transmission slot types and multiple possible downlink transmission slot types. Indications of the scheduled transmission slots, including indications of slot types of the scheduled transmission slots, may be provided to the wireless devices. Wireless communication may be performed between the cellular base station and the wireless devices according to the scheduled transmission slots.

Abstract: An electronic device that determines a transmission schedule is described. This electronic device may include an interface circuit that communicates with a recipient electronic device. During operation, the electronic device may receive a frame with scheduling-request information that is associated with the recipient electronic device. The scheduling-request information may include a buffer status report for persistent traffic, and the frame may be compatible with an IEEE 802.11 communication protocol. For example, the frame may include a scheduling-request management frame. Alternatively, the frame may include a data frame and the scheduling-request information may be included in a media access control (MAC) frame header, such as a high-efficiency (HE) variant high-throughput (HT) control header. Then, the electronic device may determine the transmission schedule based at least in part on the scheduling-request information.

Abstract: An interface circuit in a device, e.g., an access point, may perform link adaptation. During operation, the interface circuit may provide a wake-up frame, e.g., a LP-WUR packet, associated with a channel in a band of frequencies, where the wake-up frame is intended for a wake-up radio in a recipient device. Then, the interface circuit may receive, from the recipient device, feedback information associated with a second channel in a second band of frequencies, where the feedback information is associated with a main radio in the recipient device. Based at least in part on the feedback information, the interface circuit may estimate one or more communication metrics associated with the channel in the band of frequencies. Moreover, based at least in part on the one or more communication metrics, the interface circuit may determine a data rate for use in communication via the channel in the band of frequencies.
