Abstract:
A user equipment is provided with connection to a first mobile service network providing circuit-switched services. A first protocol module communicates with the first mobile service network. A circuit-switch tunneling control protocol module establishes a circuit-service tunnel to a second mobile service network providing packet-switched services. A circuit-switch tunneling data protocol module transmits a circuit-service tunneling message from the first protocol module to the second mobile service network via the circuit-service tunnel.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a microwave antenna assembly includes the step of providing a proximal portion having an inner conductor and an outer conductor. Each of the inner and outer conductors extend through the proximal portion and the inner conductor is disposed within the outer conductor. The method also includes the step of placing a junction member adjacent to a distal end of the proximal portion such that the inner conductor extends through a channel defined in the junction member. The method also includes the step of placing a proximal end of a distal portion adjacent to a distal end of the junction member such that the inner conductor extends within a channel defined within the distal portion. The method also includes the step of affixing the inner conductor to the distal portion such that the proximal portion and the distal portion apply a compressive force on the junction member.
Abstract:
Time synchronization of an access point base station. The method may include receiving an assignment message from a service provider comprising a plurality of parameters. The plurality of parameters may include an access point base station frequency assignment, a network identifier, an access point base station identifier, a neighbor list, a PN offset, and/or a scrambling code. The access point base station may then synchronize with the macro base station. Synchronizing may include searching for a strongest macro base station in the neighbor list, synchronizing a long code of the access point base station to the macro base station, estimating a propagation delay between the macro base station and the access point base station, and initializing a state of the access point base station PN code using the propagation delay to provide system time synchronization.
Abstract:
Automatic provisioning of an access point base station or femtocell. The method may include the femtocell transmitting first information (e.g., location information, signal measurement information, capability information, etc.) to a service provider (e.g., over an IP network). The femtocell may receive second information from the service provider, where the second information includes one or more operational parameters. The operational parameters may include hand-off parameters, admission policy information, PN or scrambling codes, power parameters, and/or other parameters. The femtocell may operate according to the received parameters to provide access for a plurality of access terminals in a local area.
Abstract:
A communication device that includes a femtocell base station and a mobile station transmitter/receiver. The femtocell base station may provide bidirectional internet protocol (IP) communication for one or mobile devices to a cellular network. The femtocell base station may be operable to communicate with the cellular network using a wide area network. The mobile station transmitter/receiver may be coupled to the femtocell base station (in a same housing). The mobile station transmitter/receiver may be operable to perform radio frequency (RF) wireless communication with the cellular network, e.g., to detect and/or report environmental parameters, performing testing (e.g., loopback testing), and/or provide communication for the one or more mobile devices (e.g., when the wide area network is down), among others.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and system are disclosed providing improved paging procedures in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, a Power-down Registration signal is transmitted via a 1×RTT modem from an Access Terminal (AT) to an Access Network (AN) in a wireless communication system that includes both a 1×RTT modem and a 1×HRPD modem. The Power-down Registration signal conveys information to the AN indicating that a power-down process has been initiated by the AT, and thereby enables the AN to discontinue transmission of signals and messages to the AT that are not effective when the AT is in an off-state.
Abstract:
High-strength microwave antenna assemblies and methods of use are described herein. The microwave antenna has a radiating portion connected by a feedline to a power generating source, e.g., a generator. The antenna is a dipole antenna with the distal end of the radiating portion being tapered and terminating at a tip to allow for direct insertion into tissue. The antenna can be used individually or in combination with multiple antennas to create a combined ablation field. When multiple antennas are used, microwave energy can be applied simultaneously to all the antennas or sequentially between the antennas. Furthermore, to facilitate positioning the antennas in or near the tissue to be treated, RF energy may be applied at the tip of the antenna to assist in cutting through the tissue.
Abstract:
The combined salad bowl and drainer contains a solid bowl and a drainer, with connectors holding the bowls in place. The bowl is made up of plastic and stainless steel, for both residential and industrial use. It rotates at a 360 degree angle, which allows the drainer to sit inside the storage bowl, the solid bowl retains the excess water from the contents in the drainer, and the drainer becomes a lid.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for determining the layout of a form automatically to accommodate text in the form. Under the method and apparatus, a set of parameters define the sizing and alignment of elements of the form. Sizing and positioning instructions that are separate from the sizing and alignment parameters set the sizing and positioning of elements of the form based on the sizing and alignment parameters. The instructions determine the minimum size for the form, based in part on text in the form. The difference between the minimum size for the form and a desired size for the form is then distributed across the form to size and position the elements in the form.
