摘要： A system for replacing an existing networked computer with a new computer, as in an organization wherein an employee receives a new computer and must transfer programs and data from an existing computer to the new computer. The new computer, upon arrival, is equipped with an operating system. The invention applies a set of patches to the operating system, to correct known existing issues. The invention (1) installs a set of application programs in the new computer, (2) copies a predetermined set of files from the existing computer to the new computer, (3) establishes default configurations in the new computer, and (4) sets up an electronic mail program in the new computer, which includes correspondence and the address book from the existing computer, and (5) connects the new computer with the network. These processes are undertaken largely without human involvement. Thus, a large fraction of the functionality of the existing computer is replicated on the new computer.

摘要： Membrane roofs are susceptible to damage in high winds. Wind can lift a membrane roof from a building and cause it to tear or become damaged. The present roof vent prevents liftoff and damage by reducing the air pressure under the membrane during high winds. The present roof vent has two opposed convex domes separated by a gap. Wind blowing across the roof flows between the domes where it accelerates and creates a region of low pressure according to the Venturi effect. The lower dome has an opening at the gap so that the low pressure is applied to the space under the membrane roof. Therefore, when wind blows across the roof, the vent draws air from under the membrane and the membrane is pressed against the roof, preventing liftoff.

摘要： A parallel processor with a built-in sub-phase clocking scheme is provided to execute sequentially executed programmable logic controller (PLC) programs in a parallel method. A translator program will translate the PLC logic design from a coding language into Electronic Design Interchange Format and that will be eventually converted to a hardware or software embodiment of the logic. The processor provides a plurality of sub-phase clock periods. The translator assigns to the same sub-phase period program elements that process their tasks in the same range of time. The elements are grouped into sub-phase so that logic elements are performed lock-step to ensure that downstream element are performed at a time when they have valid values at their inputs. The processor consequently avoids race conditions in the system and allows the parallel execution speedup of programs written for a sequential machine such as a PLC.

摘要： A heavy gauge agricultural implement hitch is disclosed which is offset such that the implement and the tractor are not directly in line with one another, but allows the tractor to follow the previous crop rows and the implement to be offset of the previous crop rows. This offset of the hitch allows the implement to function with more ease, especially when the implement is a planter, thus making it possible to plant soybeans, for example, more easily in a field with corn stubble.

摘要： A machine for treating a pipe interior includes a carriage movable longitudinally through the pipe. A support structure is mounted on the carriage and journalled at the top of this structure is a tubular shaft which is mounted to rotate about its own longitudinal axis with that axis being substantially aligned with the corresponding axis of the pipe. Secured to one end of the tubular shaft is a pair of material-conveying tubular arms which are radially disposed with respect to the shaft. A supply hose leading to a source of pressure-driven fluid material is coupled to the opposite end of the tubular shaft. At the junction of the tubular shaft and arms, there is a deflector member which deflects a particular fluid material flowing through the shaft into the amrs so as to be discharged against the pipe interior as the carriage moves through the pipe. A different fluid material can be applied to the pipe interior during a subsequent trip of the machine through the pipe when an inner tube is installed within the tubular shaft. This tube is connected at one end to other radially disposed arms and at the opposite end to another supply hose substituted for the first supply hose. Thus, the same machine can be assembled to perform two separate pipe treating operations such as sandblasting and painting.
