Abstract:
Described is a system and method by which a unique and permanent identifier is added to tags in hierarchically-arranged data (e.g., an XML or XAML file) by a first tool. The data with the unique and permanent identifiers is processed by a second tool into a flat file of key-value pairs, with the key being constructed from the identifier and attribute names, and the value comprising the corresponding value for that attribute. When the flat file from the new data file is compared to a flat file from an earlier version of the file, a standard merge program is able to better detect the differences, including differences caused by complex edits. The comparison is more granular than it would be if simply comparing the hierarchically-arranged file versions, thereby providing significant benefits in localization and other version tracking scenarios.
Abstract:
Techniques for superimposing highlights and shadows onto a background in order to simulate a brush texture graphical style within a software application's component window. The techniques include decoding a user-selected base-color into its individual color components, performing a contrast operation on the individual color components to determine highlight and shadow colors, and superimposing the highlight and shadow colors onto the user selected background.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to noninvasive methods, systems and devices for pulmonary delivery of aerosolized active agents and methods of treating respiratory dysfunction.
Abstract:
A data routing system for collecting data from at least one data origin and distributing data to at least one data destination. The data routing system comprises a data input module and a data output module. The data input module operatively connected to the at least one data origin. The data input module is configured to collect data from the at least one data origin. The data output module operatively connected to the data input module and to the at least one data destination. The data collection component is configured to distribute the data collected by the data input module to the at least one data destination.
Abstract:
A MEMS based thermoacoustic cryo-cooler for thermal management of cryogenic electronic devices and a resonant tube used therein. A vertical comb-drive can provides an acoustic source through a driving plate to the resonant tube. By exciting a standing wave within the resonant tube, a temperature difference develops across a stack in the tube, thereby enabling heat exchange between heat exchangers. A tapered resonant tube improves the efficiency of the cooling system, compared with a simple cylinder configuration, leading to reduced harmonics and strong standing waves.
Abstract:
A pharmaceutical dosage form which comprises phenylepherine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a second drug. The dosage form provides a plasma concentration within the therapeutic range of the second drug over a period which is coextensive with at least about 70% of the period over which the dosage form provides a plasma concentration within the therapeutic range of phenylepherine. This abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
In a method and apparatus for cutting expanded graphite sheet material, at least one cutting tool is urged against the sheet(s). The cutting tool has at least one ridge extending therefrom that includes a substantially tapered cross-section having sloping sides and an edge surface. At least a portion of the sheet material is displaced as the ridge is urged against the sheet. A region of the sheet material in contact with the ridge is compressed so that the density of the region reaches or exceeds the breaking density of the sheet.

Abstract:
An improved method and apparatus for individually wrapping drinking straws applies a web of wrapping material to sequentially supplied straws while providing separately: (i) a crimping station for the wrapping material which secures it about the straws by providing longitudinal and transverse crimps and (ii) a cutting station for separating the wrapped straws. The discrete locations of the crimping and cutting stations enables faster and more reliable production by separating operations, which reduces the amount of mechanical interaction between dies at a single location, thereby reducing die bounce. Speed increases of 15-20 percent are readily achieved.
Abstract:
A fast pattern processor having an internal function bus and an external function bus. In one embodiment, a fast pattern processor includes: (1) an internal function bus, (2) an external function bus, (3) a context memory having a block buffer and a argument signature register wherein the block buffer includes processing blocks associated with a protocol data unit (PDU), (4) a pattern processing engine, associated with the context memory, that performs pattern matching and (5) a function interface system having (5A) a controller arbitration subsystem and (5B) a dispatch subsystem.
