    摘要: A dye mixture is disclosed. The mixture is useful in recording layers of optical recording elements. The mixture has:a) a real index of refraction of at least 1.8 in the 780 to 790 nm region of the spectra;b) an imaginary index (k) between 0.3 and 0.02 in the 780 to 790 nm region of the spectra;c) a metallized azo dye comprising an azo group linking a substituted 3-hydroxy-pyridine nucleus to a phenyl nucleus wherein the phenyl nucleus has an alkoxy or thioether substituent at its 2-position; andd) at least a second dye.

    摘要: A dye-donor element for laser-induced thermal dye transfer comprising a support having thereon a dye layer comprising a polymeric binder, an image dye and an infrared-absorbing material which is different from the image dye in the dye layer, and wherein the infrared-absorbing material is a nickel-dithioene dye complex which is located coextensively with the image dye in the dye layer, the dye complex having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein: each R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having from 1 to about 0 carbon atoms or one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, but not both simultaneously, represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or hetaryl group having from about 5 to about 10 atoms; or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be combined together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached to form a 5- to 7-membered substituted or unsubstituted carbocyclic ring; each Z independently represents the atoms necesasry to complete a 6-membered substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring; and X.sup.+ is a monovalent cation.

    摘要: Photographic elements, diffusion transfer assemblages and processes are described which employ a novel nondiffusible compound having a releasable 6-arylazo-3-pyridinol magenta dye moiety or precursor thereof having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: (a) R represents hydroxy or amino;(b) R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, a hydrolyzable moiety or CAR;(c) G represents carboxy; a hydrolyzable ester or a sulfamoyl group;(d) CAR represents a ballasted carrier moiety capable of releasing the diffusible 6-arylazo-3-pyridinol dye moiety or precursor thereof under alkaline conditions; and(e) n is 0, 1 or 2, with the proviso that when n is 0, then R.sup.1 is CAR.

    摘要: Photographic elements, diffusion transfer assemblages and processes are described which employ a novel nondiffusible compound having a releasable 2-(2-heterocyclylazo)-1-naphthol dye moiety which contains a nitrogen atom adjacent to the point of attachment to the azo linkage. The compound contains a ballasted carrier moiety which is capable of releasing the diffusible azo dye under alkaline conditions. The dye is transferred imagewise to an image-receiving layer where it is contacted with metal ions to form a metal-complexed azo dye transfer image of excellent stability.
