Abstract:
The invention relates to a hoisting drive comprising several linear motors, as well as to a linear slide track with a carriage. All primary parts and all secondary parts of the linear motors are mounted on the carriage. The hoisting drive comprises a closed housing which is cooled by a coolant and into which the linear slide track is integrated together with the linear motors. Those primary parts and secondary parts which are not mounted on the carriage are mounted on the housing. A cylindrical hoisting rod is introduced into the housing in a sealed manner and mechanically joined to the carriage. This hoisting drive is especially suitable for use in the iron and steel industry as replacement for large cylinders.
Abstract:
A taphole boring machine serving two tapholes includes a support structure, a mount and a suspension device of which the mount is secured on the supporting structure and the suspension device has a tilting device for the mount with the suspension device further including a mechanism within a frame, a first drive and two connection points with a mechanism designed in such a way that a positively guided translation of two connection points in relation to the frame can be produced by a drive pulse of the first drive so that a connecting line through the two connection points remains parallel with itself during such movement.
Abstract:
A device for the distribution of materials in bulk comprises a chute (10) suspended from a first rotor (18) so as to be driven in rotation and to be capable of pivoting about a pivoting axis (33). A pivoting ring (38) is connected to the chute (10) so as to be capable of pivoting about an axis (36) perpendicular to the horizontal pivoting axis (33) of the chute (10). A guide means, preferably comprising a large diameter suspension bearing (52), is supported by a second rotor (40). It defines for the pivoting ring (38), in a reference frame attached to the second rotor (40), an inclined plane of rotation which makes an angle .alpha. with a horizontal reference plane. The pivoting ring (33) creates, during a relative rotation in this inclined plane of rotation, a pivoting of the chute (10) about the pivoting axis (33).
Abstract:
A distributor chute for bulk material, in particular for use in a bell-less blast furnace top charging device, has several inclined transverse plates in the region of its impact zone. The transverse plates create retaining pockets between their inner faces and the surface of the distributor chute. Two adjacent transverse plates limit between the outer face of the first transverse plate and the inner face or the second transverse plate a retaining chamber. If the inclination of the chute is reduced, the bulk material moves from the retaining pocket to the retaining chamber.
Abstract:
A probe includes a probe foot which is suspended on a cable or a chain attached to a winding drum mounted in a sealed casing above the furnace and which communicates with the interior of the latter via a vertical sleeve passing through the upper wall of the furnace, an electric motor associated with a reducer for actuating the winding drum, and a device for detecting the unwinding and winding up of the winding drum in order to control the speed and torque of the motor. The motor is a servomotor, the speed and torque of which are controlled automatically as a function of the detection device by comparison of the actual speed of the motor with data of desired values dependent on the position of the probe foot.
Abstract:
A driving apparatus for an oscillating spout is presented which includes a control mechanism which directs a control arm to perform the movement required by the spout and a transmission device which acts to transmit the control arm movement and reproduce it as spout movement. The control mechanism consists of a driving rod pivotally connected to an intermediate lever arm and a novel universal joint connecting the lever arm to the control arm. The universal joint enables the spout to be moved in and out of a vertical orientation by prohibiting the components of the control mechanism from becoming axially locked in a 180.degree. angle.
Abstract:
An apparatus for driving an oscillating spout capable of pivoting about two orthogonal axes under the action of a pivoting control arm having the same degrees of liberties as the spout is presented. The driving apparatus includes a control mechanism which directs the control arm to perform the movement required by the spout and a transmission device which acts to transmit the control arm movement to the spout to reproduce it as spout movement, and vice versa. The apparatus further includes a rotary internal housing supported on a support frame via a bearing member and enclosed by an outer housing or cowl. The rotary housing is associated with a toothed rim which is actuated by a first motor fixed to or adjacent to the support frame. A control mechanism is also provided which includes a driving rod which is coaxial with the rotary internal housing and which is capable of sliding in the axial direction. The control mechanism is associated with a second motor which is also adjacent to or fixed to the support frame. A pivotal connecting means consisting of a central body and two diametrically opposed pivots is mounted on the lower end of the driving rod via one or more bearings in such a way so as to be freely rotatable in relation to the rod (and in conjunction with the rotary housing) but integral therewith with regard to vertical or axial movement. The pivotal connecting means is associated with the rotary housing such that a high rate of rotation may be transferred thereto.
Abstract:
The process is intended to compensate for the random movements and inclinations of a loading installation of a shaft furnace having a storage lock chamber which is carried by a framework independent of the shaft furnace and which is connected to the shaft furnace by use of a compensator. In accordance with this process, the lateral shifts of the head of the furnace in relation to the lock chamber are detected, and the storage lock chamber is inclined until the axis of the falling path of the charge material corresponds to the shifted central axis (0') of the furnace.
Abstract:
A metering valve comprised of two rotary registers are each provided with cutouts which are symmetrical in relation to the axis of the central opening defined by the movement of the registers. In accordance with the present invention, a mechanism for operating the registers synchronously and in opposite directions is composed of levers and connecting rods acting on the axis of suspension and rotation of the registers through the action of, for example, hydraulic jacks. In order to avoid the offsetting of the flow because of the difference between the radii of curvature of the registers, the entire mechanism is adapted to pivot as a whole about the pivot axis of the registers.
Abstract:
The apparatus comprises a distribution spout and a hopper which has two containers mounted thereabove provided with sealing valves and a metering member. In order to simplify the weighing system, the hopper is independent of the mouth of the furnace and is located inside a sealed chamber. The hopper is suspended by a device which enables it to be coupled to the container which is being emptied and to be uncoupled from the container which is being filled.
