摘要: An air bag is unfolded on a planar surface and is inflated with air. The air bag is loosely sandwiched between the upper and lower blades that are arranged in a radial configuration. Movable blocks progress toward the center to fold the upper and lower panels of the air bag against the central part of the air bag. The resulting central folded part of the air bag has a wave-like configuration, and the upper and lower panels are separated from each other. The ear-like portions of the air bag are wound around the central folded part of the air bag that is folded in a wave-like configuration. Then, the central part of the air bag is pressed downward to complete the folding process. Gas can be supplied smoothly from the inlet port to the periphery when the air bag is reinflated. The method for folding the air bag is simple, and the air bag can be inflated quickly.

摘要: An air bag body (1) is expanded by charging air therein after being expanded in a flat surface shape. Next, by gently gripping the air bag body (1) by upper and lower blades (26, 25) radially arranged in a radial direction of the air bag body (1), height in a radial direction of the air bag body (1) is linearly restricted along the upper and lower blades (26, 25). Next, a plurality of movable blocks (24) are forward moved toward a center of the air bag body (1), and upper and lower panels (12, 11) of the air bag body (1) are accumulated. At this time, the upper and lower panels (12, 11) of the air bag body (1) are folded in a state of being apart from each other so as to form a wave shape. Next, the air bag body (1) is rotated, a portion left in a tab shape is wound around a periphery, and a center protruding portion of the air bag body (1) is pressed from an upper side, whereby a front surface deploying portion (35) is formed. When supplying gas to the folded air bag body (1), the front surface deploying portion (35) rapidly deploys so as to break a cover (5) and the gas is smoothly supplied to a peripheral edge portion (14), whereby it is possible to smoothly and rapidly deploy the air bag body (1).

摘要: A steering wheel which has a core, a cover covering at least a part of the core, a mount member mounted on the cover and a finisher mounted on the mount member. The mount member is fixed to the cover, and the finisher is fixed to the cover through the mount member. The finisher is engaged with the mount member. The core, the cover, the mount member and the finisher in combination form a grip of the steering wheel. The cover is lower in hardness than the core. The mount member is higher in hardness than the cover. The mount member is formed through an insert molding method.

摘要: A monolithic varistor includes a sintered layered body and a pair of external electrodes disposed on opposite ends of the layered body. The layered body is composed of a plurality of varistor sheets and a plurality of valistor electrodes, which are layered on one another and integrally fired. T is defined as the distance between the varistor electrodes, and Ty is defined as the distance between an outermost varistor electrode and the upper surface of the sintered layered body. Further, Tx is defined as the distance between the external electrodes and the corresponding edges of the varistor electrodes. The varistor is designed in order to satisfy one of the following three conditions: Condition (A) 1.5≦(Tx/T)≦3.0 Condition (B) (Ty/T)≧1.0 Condition (C) 1.5≦(Tx/T)≦3.0 and (Ty/T)≧1.0

摘要: A steering wheel includes a boss, a spoke, and an air bag apparatus with a bag and a synthetic resin cover. When the vehicle is subjected to a collision, the bag is inflated and rupture opens a front wall of the cover. The front wall has two side rupture lines, a dividing rupture line between the side rupture lines, a center rupture line from the dividing rupture line, and two upper hinges between the side rupture lines and the center rupture line. When the cover ruptures open, the rupture lines rupture, causing each lid to bend and swing about the upper hinges. The dividing rupture line is disposed at a position so that the upper lids do not interfere with the rim.

摘要: A method for producing cutting tools incorporated in the present invention is carried out as follows: a shank portion and a drill portion are formed separately such that the inner diameter of a hole made in the shank portion is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the drill portion. The rear of the drill portion is forcibly inserted into the hole of the shank portion at normal temperature which is room temperature. The diameter of the inner wall of the hole is thereby enlarged, resulting in a tight fitting. After the insertion of the drill portion in the shank portion, the drill portion may be ground to form a drill edge. Before the insertion of the drill portion in the shank portion, the shank portion may be quenched under vacuum or the like, or the surface of the shank portion may be hardened by nitriding.

摘要: A retainer (15) adapted to fix an air bag (14) to a base plate (11) includes an expanded portion (15b) for covering an inflator (12). An angled portion (15d) of the expanded portion (15b) is provided with radially arranged gas through holes (15f). The center portion of an upper fabric material (14a) of the air bag (14) is affixed to the center of a top plate portion (15e) of the expanded portion (15b) by means of a rivet (41), thereby limiting the distance by which the air bag (14) projects toward the occupant.

摘要: The absolute values of the apparent magnetocrystalline anisotropic energy K1 is made large to increase the absolute value of the crystal magnetic anisotropy energy by adjusting the content of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 in the single crystal ferrite to 50 to 52 mol % or 55 to 58 mol %, thereby the absolute value of the apparent magnetic anisotropic energy is increased. Accordingly, the magnetic pole at the demagnetization time is stabilized and noise fluctuation is suppressed to a low level.

摘要: An impact absorbing structure for use in steering wheels and the like is formed by slitting a blank and pressing the same in a manner to define a plurality of L-shaped members which are alternatively and mutually inverted with respect to one another. The vertically extending leg portions of the L-shaped members are bent in a manner which facilitates buckling during collisions and the like.
